There’s a reason why it’s called gambling and not winning. If you think you know better than oddsmakers chances are you don’t. If you feel strongly about a team it’s worth the risk anyway because there’s always a chance you can be correct in your assumptions. The opening week of the NFL season is always tricky and the old saying is that it takes a few games to get a good barometer on each team. We also didn’t account for injuries and weather, which all take a toll on the outcome of games.
My Week 1 parlay didn’t quite go according to plan, but that won’t stop me from continuing my quest of beating the house. It’s hard enough handicapping one game and getting it right which is why the payout on a multi-team parlay is so inviting. If you have some disposable cash parlay cards are a fun way to maximize the entertainment value of your NFL week. As a reminder depending on how many wagers you make on a parlay card they all must win in order to cash the ticket.
Let’s have a look at some favorites and underdogs on the Week 2 NFL betting board to see where we can potentially string some wins together to fatten our bankroll on a winning parlay card.

Parlay Card Favorites
For better odds of cashing a winning parlay card it’s always smart to pick a few favorites on the moneyline. Going with all favored teams gives you a better a chance to win, however the payout isn’t nearly as hefty as what it would be if there were a few underdogs or spread picks. So let’s start out with a few faves on the board.
The Colts acquired Matt Ryan to win meaningful games and get the club to the postseason. Well, he didn’t win or lose the opener instead throwing for 352 yards and a touchdown in a tie with Houston. It was a loss to the woeful Jags in last season’s finale that cost Indy a postseason ticket and eventually forced Carson Wentz out of town and you know the Colts will be jacked for this game. Besides, they don’t want to go winless against what could be the two worst teams in the AFC South so I’m backing them at -4 ( -110 ) on my parlay card.
Another favorite ready to break out is the Rams. They are laying 10.5-points but the Falcons aren’t the Bills and many of LA’s regulars experienced live game action for the first time in Thursday’s Week 1 loss. The Super Bowl hangover will last a week before the Rams realize this is a new season and they have to work twice as hard for a chance to repeat. They have the weapons and if Shane Stafford’s ailing shoulder isn’t an issue I can see the offense erupting against an Atlanta defense that crumbled in the fourth quarter of last week’s loss to New Orleans.
Parlay Card Underdog Winners
In order to sweeten the pot on our parlay card payout backing a few dogs on the moneyline is a must. It’s a little early to hand the Lombardi Trophy to the Bills but make no mistake they are a quality team deserving of their status among the best in the NFL. They showed that with a dominant second half in the season-opening win over LA. And based on last week’s results Buffalo is getting a lot of attention at the betting window.
Keep in mind the Bills aren’t perfect with some disturbing games last season. Half of their six losses were against non-playoff teams, including a 9-6 stunner in Jacksonville. They also dropped a 34-31 decision to the Titans, their second straight as a betting favorite. You could say the Bills are due, but I’m backing Tennessee on the moneyline at +367 as one of my upset picks.
Tom Brady is considered the GOAT but he hasn’t been able to beat the New Orleans Saints in four regular season games since coming to Tampa. Brady did beat them in the 2021 playoffs, but he’s 0-4 during the regular season over the previous two seasons. The Saints were determined last week coming back from a 17-point fourth quarter deficit to beat Atlanta and the Superdome will be rockin on Sunday giving me the confidence to back the home team at +120 on the moneyline.
