NFL Week 4 Teaser Odds - Football Spreads

One of the more popular types of wagers for players who test the NFL lines and spreads are teaser bets. Similar to parlays, however teasers allow you to move the spread or total by as much as six points with a minimum of two wagers. Most sportsbooks, including BookMaker.eu, allow players to increase their points at a price and more wagers are accepted which would allow for a higher payout on a winning ticket. Just like a parlay bet, all wagers in the teaser need to win in order to cash.

For Week 4 of the NFL regular season we’re going to play a 3-team teaser with a 6-point swing. Going with a three or four team wager gives players a better chance at winning and paying for additional points isn’t always profitable. Adding points to the spread also increases our odds so a current dog on the board is a better choice. Let’s have a look at a winning Week 4 three-team teaser bet at BookMaker.eu.

Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts

Opening Line: Texans +1.5

Teaser Line: Texans +7.5

This is a great pick since the teaser line crosses the 3- and 7-point boundary that is most common in the NFL. And besides, the Texans are due for a win anyway. They have yet to win a game this season, but they haven’t lost by more than seven points, which makes the additional points even more tantalizing in this teaser. Deshaun Watson has performed better and appears to be chiseling off the rust from his inactivity following knee surgery.

And the Texans are getting all their defensive pieces in line. Many had Houston fighting for the AFC South title prior to the season and things haven’t gone according to plan. There is time, however, and that starts this week against division rival Indianapolis.

Cleveland Browns at Oakland Raiders

Opening Line: Browns +2.5

Teaser Line: Browns +8.5

This game offers another massive change in the dynamic of the spread with the addition of the teaser points, also crossing the 3- and 7-point mark. The Browns are playing with a lot of emotion after picking up their first win in nearly two years, and Mayfield Mania has officially hit Cleveland. Mayfield showed why he was the No. 1 pick in the draft, rallying the Browns to a win over the Jets last Thursday by throwing for 201 yards on 17 of 23 passing.

Mayfield extended plays with his elusiveness and brought an overall sense of excitement to the team. Now, how will he do in his next outing? Mayfield confidently said after the win that he “didn’t come here to win one game.” Oakland had one of the best defensive players in the game on their side until dealing Khalil Mack. Now they can’t get to the quarterback. Meanwhile, Cleveland’s defense is vastly underrated and will make things difficult on Derek Carr.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Chicago Bears

Opening Line: Buccaneers +3

Teaser Line: Buccaneers +9

Chicago’s offense is still a work in progress with Mitchell Trubisky still making rookie errors, and that alone makes the 9-point teaser spread a winner for the Bucs. The big question out of Tampa is who starts at quarterback in Week 4? Jameis Winston has served his time and is back at Bucs camp, but can Dirk Koetter replace a guy who has thrown for the most yards and the second-most touchdowns in the NFL?

Ryan Fitzpatrick certainly did more than anyone expected during Winston’s absence, leading Tampa to upset wins over New Orleans and Philadelphia, and nearly engineering a second half comeback against the Steelers on Monday night. Whoever starts will be harassed by Khalil Mack and the Bears defense, and with Chicago still trying to grasp head coach Matt Nagy’s offense, this one is in line to be close. The Bucs might lose the game, but having the additional cushion on the line is why teasers are popular.
