NFL Week 4 Ugly Dog Picks - Bet on Football

NFL Week 4 Ugly Dog Picks

If you want to win money betting NFL games then you need to be willing to take teams no one else wants to bet. We refer to these teams as ugly dogs and you really have to hold your nose sometimes when you bet on them, but history has shown that going against the public works. We went 2-4 with the picks in Week 3 and that means a slow start to the season with a record of 6-10. We’ll look to turn things around in Week 4. Let’s take a look at the Week 4 Ugly Dog picks.

Week 4 Ugly Dog Picks

Los Angeles Chargers +7 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Chargers have gotten an early look at their future quarterback in Justin Herbert and while he has played well, the team has yet to win a game with him under center. It won’t be easy this week either, as the Chargers travel to face Tom Brady and the Bucs. The Chargers could have won or lost all three of their games this season, so it is not a huge surprise they come into this game at 1-2. The Bucs are 2-1 but we still really don’t know how good they are. They lost to the Saints in the opener and then routed two bad teams in Carolina and Denver. We’ll take the Chargers as an ugly dog.

Washington Redskins +13 vs. Baltimore Ravens

There are some really ugly dogs on this week’s NFL schedule, the first of which is the Washington Redskins visiting the Baltimore Ravens. The Redskins are a bad team with a bad quarterback. Owner Daniel Snyder went out and drafted Dwayne Haskins as his quarterback of the future and the reality is that Haskins simply isn’t very good. He has a big arm so he will make some plays, but he throws too many interceptions and makes poor decisions. The Ravens are coming off a loss to the Chiefs on Monday night so perhaps they have a letdown and even that might not be enough to keep this game close. This is ugly, but we take the Redskins plus the points.

New York Giants +13 at Los Angeles Rams

If the last game wasn’t ugly enough for you, how about this one? Now we take the pathetic Giants on the road against the high scoring Rams coming off a loss. This one doesn’t look good either, but again, that is the point of these picks. There are no guaranteed wins or covers in the NFL and when the game looks the ugliest, oftentimes the bad team will cover the spread. That is what we are hoping here, so we take the points with the Giants as an ugly dog.

Philadelphia Eagles +7 at San Francisco 49ers

Did you ever think we would put the Eagles into the ugly dog category? We really don’t have any choice, as they are 0-3, playing with a quarterback in Carson Wentz who probably should be benched, and on the road against a good San Francisco team. Fans in Philly are already calling for the head of Doug Pederson and for Wentz to be benched, but for now, the Eagles are staying with their head coach and quarterback. The 49ers have problems of their own, but most are injury related and San Francisco is good enough to overcome injuries. We’ll take the Eagles as an ugly dog.

Atlanta Falcons +7.5 at Green Bay Packers

The Falcons are 0-3 and finding unbelievable ways to lose games. Never in NFL history has a team blown two 15-point leads in the same season and lost both games, until now. The Falcons simply can’t hang on to leads and now they go into Lambeau and face Aaron Rodgers and the high scoring Packers. Players and coaches in Atlanta are saying this is a must-win game and they are treating it like a playoff game. Will that be enough? We’ll take the Falcons as an ugly dog.
