NFL Week 5 Parlay Picks

We’re only four weeks in and it’s already been an up and down season on my NFL parlay picks. I nearly hit all five picks for the second time in Week 4 but was denied another sweep by Buffalo. Looking like the best team in the NFL entering their Sunday night matchup with Baltimore, the Bills were run out of town in a 35-10 setback not getting any help from the 2.5-points they were spotted. It just proves that you never know what’s going to happen when you bet on the NFL using bitcoin.

The surprising Minnesota Vikings are one of only two undefeated teams left through four weeks. They take on old pal Aaron Rodgers and the Jets early Sunday morning from London. Rodgers won nearly 60 percent of his starts against the Vikings when he was with Green Bay but he’s a 2.5-point dog on the early line in this one. The Jets had a miserable outing against Denver in Week 4 losing outright 10-9 as an 8.5-point favorite. Kansas City is the other unbeaten and they close the betting week on Monday night at home against New Orleans. There are six divisional games on the slate that’s been reduced to 14 games with four teams starting having a bye.

NFL Week 5 Parlay Card Underdogs

Tampa Bay +1.5 at Atlanta

New Orleans +5 at Kansas City

As I scour over the schedule and early lines there are more games where I like the favorite than the underdog so mixing things up is the way to go. I hit two of three underdog picks last week getting handed a losing ticket when Buffalo crashed on Monday night. I backed the Vikings +2.5 and they beat Green Bay outright on the road, 31-29, though there were some anxious moments when a 28-point lead nearly disappeared. I thought the Jags were going to get their first win but a late Houston TD denied them. They did get the payout, though, staying within the 6.5-point line in their 24-20 loss.

Tampa has been on fire with Baker Mayfield leading the way. The Bucs annihilated Philadelphia on Sunday with Mayfield throwing for 347 yards and two TDs with an additional rushing TD. He’s accounted for 10 scores this year and the Bucs average 30 points in their wins. Going back to last season the Bucs are 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 regular season games that includes a 29-25 triumph in Atlanta. I’ll back Baker and the points.

The likelihood of a close game on Monday night is out there. The Chiefs haven’t played a game decided by more than seven points and the Saints had late leads in each of their last two losses falling by a total of five points. KC’s offense has been hindered by injuries to playmakers with leading receiver Rashee Rice the latest. That should be enough for the Saints to at least stay within the 5-point spread.

NFL Week 5 Parlay Card Favorites

Chicago -3.5 vs. Carolina

Washington -3 vs. Cleveland

Seattle -6.5 vs. NY Giants

I hit my favored team parlay last week buying the Cowboys early at -4.5. That was a key move since they won the game 20-15 covering by half a point. The line went up to -5.5 at most shops meaning a loss for those who waited. I also backed the Lions who were laying 4-points to Seattle on Monday night. Jared Goff threw a perfect game completing all 18 passes in Detroit’s 42-29 win.

The Panthers showed a spark since Andy Dalton took over at QB beating Vegas and dropping 24 on the Bengals last week. They scored a total of 13 points in their first two games. Defensively they’re a mess allowing the most points in the NFL and the Bears need a breakout game from Caleb Williams. This is their chance and at home I’ll lay the 3.5-points to back the Bears. Jayden Daniels has outplayed No. 1 overall pick Williams so far and Washington is enjoying the results. The search for a franchise quarterback may have ended with Daniels hitting more than 86 percent of his passes and the teams racking up 80 points in their last two wins. Hell, even the Browns won’t be able to contain him.

They’re not facing Goff and Detroit’s explosive offense so the Seahawks have a chance to get back in the win column. The Giants have failed to score a TD in their loss to Dallas and have scored the third fewest points in the NFL. Seattle should be pissed after the Lions did whatever they wanted and that will translate into a home win.
