Playing a multi-team parlay card is both fun to play and very rewarding when you win. Playing on the money line gives bettors a chance at hitting the favorites. However, the payout won’t be as large. In order to hedge our bets, taking a chance on an underdog or two will increase the amount of dough we can make when playing a multi-team parlay card. We hit all our favorites last week, which gave us a solid base. But we missed on one of our underdog picks when the Cowboys couldn’t turn the trick in Washington. Our other underdog pick paid off when the Saints got a gift from Justin Tucker and the Ravens to pull off the road upset in Baltimore. We’ll take a look at some must have favorites on this week’s slate and delve into some potential upsets that will give players a better chance at a maximum return.
Let’s take a look at some teams you need on your Week 8 money line parlay card.
Money Line Parlay Favorites
To improve your odds of cashing a winning money line parlay card it’s always a smart play to pick a few favorites. Going with all favored teams gives you a better a chance to win, however the payout isn’t nearly as hefty as what it would be if there were a few underdogs on the card. To increase the odds of a winning ticket and a better payout, we’re going to look at a four-team money line parlay with three favored teams and one underdog on the Week 8 slate of games.
There aren’t many games on this week’s schedule that scream pick me. The obvious choice is siding with New England for its Monday Night Football matchup with the Bills. Buffalo already has the biggest upset in recent memory when it knocked off Minnesota as a 16.5-point dog earlier in the season. The Bills will be without Josh Allen for the AFC East tilt and Derek Anderson, who was signed just a few days prior, made his team debut by throwing three picks in a loss to the Colts where the Bills scored a total of five points.
We’re going to back the Chiefs as another of our money line parlay card favorites. This could be a scary game since it is a division matchup and the Broncos nearly pulled off the upset when the teams met a few weeks ago. But that’s also why we are going with the Chiefs. They were able to overcome a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit on the road against an eager Broncos squad with Patrick Mahomes looking unflappable down the stretch.
Denver got back in the win column by taking down Arizona last week and had a few extra days to prepare after their Thursday night game. But plenty of holes remain on the roster and the Chiefs are far superior then the Cards. The spread is large and the Broncos could build off the first meeting, keeping the game tight. But in the end, too much Mahomes will lead the Chiefs to another victory.
The NFC West contest between the 49ers and Cardinals opened as a pick ‘em but leaned the Niners way thanks to over 65 percent of the early action backing the visitors. Neither team is very good, but the Cards stunk up the joint last Thursday and they are nowhere close to resembling a competent NFL team. The Niners have been hit hard with injuries, but they’ve been a bit more competitive and they are looking to get back at the Cards for losing a few weeks ago, the only game Arizona has won all season. For that reason I’m going with the Niners on my parlay card.
Underdog Winners
Picking a favorite to win on the money line is the easy part of this wager. There are always upsets in the NFL, the key is to do your homework and figure out which ones are going to win. If you can do that, the payout will be much more substantial. After getting shell shocked by Mahomes and the Chiefs on Sunday night, the Bengals have to deal with Jameis Winston and the Bucs aerial attack. At +180 on the money line, Tampa is a solid choice to help our bottom line. At +139 the Seahawks are another short underdog that could help the payout on our money line parlay card. Seattle is coming off a bye and will get one of its top defenders in K.J. Wright back on the field. He’ll help slow down Matthew Stafford and the Lions, giving us a winning ticket.
