Super Bowl 53 Odds Update Week 15 – NFL Spreads

Another week and another swapping of spots on the updated Super Bowl LIII odds list at BookMaker.eu. After losing the top spot to the Rams last week, the New Orleans Saints are back on top as the betting favorite, rebounding from a loss to the Cowboys that ended their 10-game winning streak to stop the Bucs. Meanwhile, the Rams fell to the second favorite following a humbling loss to Chicago on Sunday night. The two favorites from the AFC also traded spots with the Chiefs moving ahead of New England as the third favorite. While there has been movement the last few weeks, it’s been among the same four teams as no one has been able to crack the foursome.

We could see a change at the top in Week 15 when the Chiefs host the Los Angeles Chargers in a critical matchup. Winners in nine of their last 10 games, the Bolts have the second-best record in the AFC and can tie the Chiefs with a victory. However, they have just the fifth-best odds and the third-best among AFC teams at +1025. The Bears improved their odds with a big victory last week. Other movers up the list included the Cowboys, Colts, Seahawks and Ravens. Four other teams were officially eliminated from the postseason with Arizona, Buffalo, Jacksonville and the Jets joining the two Bay Area teams.

Here’s a look at the current Super Bowl LIII odds at BookMaker.eu after Week 14 of the 2018 NFL regular season.

Determining which teams actually make the postseason is going to be more exciting than the playoffs themselves. We know the teams that aren’t going to win Super Bowl LIII and the list increased this week as four more were officially eliminated from playoff contention. We knew by midseason that the Cardinals, Bills, Jaguars and Jets were not going to compete in the second season, so it was just a matter of time. That time came last week as the four joined the Raiders and Niners, who were placed on the chopping block the previous week.

The Saints joined the Rams as division clinchers with their win over Tampa last week, but the teams have plenty to play for over the final three weeks. The No. 1 seed in the NFC is up for grabs and New Orleans holds the tie-breaker thanks to their earlier head-to-head win. Chicago got a huge boost up the odds board after beating the Rams last week, and they did so with a dominant defensive showing.

Chicago can clinch the NFC North and its first playoff appearance since 2010 with a win over Green Bay on Sunday. And speaking of the Packers, they got a bunch of good news last week. The coaching change sparked a resurgence in the offense with the Pack posting a season-high point total to beat Atlanta. And the four teams ahead of them in the standing all lost, so don’t count Aaron Rodgers out just yet.

The Cowboys were big winners this week as well, moving from +2550 to +1451 on the odds board after knocking off the defending champs in overtime for their fifth straight win. Seattle has won four in a row and also had a big leap on the odds board. Minnesota currently holds down the final wild card in the NFC, but the Vikes are followed closely by three other 6-win teams and four teams that have 5-wins.

Denver was a loser in the AFC after falling to the Niners on Sunday. The Broncos had a chance to join three other teams with seven wins, all of which are tied with Baltimore for the final playoff spot in the conference. We should get more clarity on the playoff picture this week and we’ll likely have a few more teams off the board come Sunday night.
