Super Bowl 53 Odds Update Week 16 – NFL Predictions

Hand it to the New Orleans Saints for coming out victorious on Monday night despite scoring only 12 points. That proves that they just may be the most well rounded team in the NFL and that’s why they remain atop the updated Super Bowl LIII odds list at BookMaker.eu. Even though the Rams, Chiefs and Patriots all lost last week, they’ve done enough over the course of the season to maintain their spots among the top-4. The Chargers made a move up the odds board following their win over Kansas City, matching the Chiefs with the best record in the AFC. Unfortunately, one of those clubs is going to be a No. 5 seed, making the path to the Super Bowl more difficult.

The Bears will have a chance to compete for the Lombardi Trophy for the first time since 2010 after wrapping up the NFC North with a victory over Green Bay, knocking the Packers off the board. The Bears, Chargers, Texans and Steelers all had slight improvements in their odds while the Colts and Eagles were the biggest movers. Indy remains on the outside looking in, but their odds improved to +4200 by beating Dallas, their seventh win in eight games. The defending champs revived their playoff hopes by defeating the Rams on Sunday night.

Here’s a look at the current Super Bowl LIII odds at BookMaker.eu after Week 15 of the 2018 NFL regular season.

Having a defense unlike any we’ve seen recently in the Big Easy makes the Saints the favorite to win their second Super Bowl title. They don’t need Drew Brees to toss the ball all over the yard putting up ridiculous numbers with a group on the other side that has been the best at keeping opponent’s off the scoreboard since Week 4. New Orleans hasn’t allowed more than 17 points in its last six games, throttling some good offenses with a relentless pass rush while compiling 21 takeaways in that span.

There are no flawless teams in the league, but the Saints are as close as you can get right now. For the first time all season the Rams are facing adversity and it couldn’t have come at a worse time. Consecutive losses have them only one game better than the Bears and Chicago holds the tie-breaker thanks to its win a few weeks ago. The good news for LA is that they should get back on track with games against Arizona and San Francisco to close the schedule.

We’ve been saying all season to keep an eye on the Texans, even after they lost their first three games. And they proved us right by winning 10 times in their past 11 games to overtake New England for the No. 2 seed in the AFC. Houston saw its odds improve from +1803 to +1500 after defeating the Jets. The Steelers regained their footing and maintained a slim lead over the Ravens in the AFC North with a much-needed win over the Pats.

The team to look out for is the Colts, who won again last week pitching a shutout at the Cowboys. Defense had been an issue during the early season struggles, but the group has come along to put Indy in striking distance of a playoff spot. They aren’t there yet, but the Colts’ odds improved from +10500 to +4200. The defending champion Eagles are still alive thanks to their huge win over the Rams on Sunday. If Nick Foles can deliver another miracle finish the Eagles are available at +8000.

While we don’t know who will win Super Bowl LIII, we know the teams that won’t be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy in early February. The list grew even larger after last week’s games. Atlanta, Detroit, Green Bay, New York Giants and Tampa Bay were all officially eliminated from the NFC picture with Cincinnati and Denver shortening the list of AFC contenders. They all join the six clubs that were already eliminated from Super Bowl contention.
