Super Bowl 53 Odds Update Week 17 – NFL Props

The New Orleans Saints returned to the Superdome and worked out some of their offensive issues against the Steelers on Sunday, securing the No. 1 seed in the NFC with their 31-28 comeback victory. The Saints have been dominant on the fast track of the Superdome and with the playoffs running through the Big Easy, the Saints improved their odds and put some distance between themselves and the other favorites on the updated Super Bowl LIII odds board at BookMaker.eu.

Though they’ve lost two in a row, the Chiefs are the second favorite, jumping ahead of the Rams on the list. KC can clinch home field advantage in the AFC with a win over the Raiders on Sunday, leaving the Patriots and Chargers as the next favored AFC clubs. With their win over the Bolts on Saturday, the Ravens had a massive improvement in their odds going from +3500 to +1450. Pittsburgh’s loss to the Saints was its fourth in five games, dropping the Steelers out of the division lead and leaving their playoff hopes on life support. They were the biggest losers this week, falling from +1900 to +5500 on the odds board.

Here’s a look at the current Super Bowl LIII odds at BookMaker.eu after Week 16 of the 2018 NFL regular season.

Locking up home field advantage was huge for the Saints, who don’t have to leave the Crescent City until boarding a flight for the short trip to Atlanta in early February. We can’t give them the NFC crown just yet, but the Saints sure look like the best team in the league right now. They got the offense rolling against the Steelers, putting up 31 points after totaling just 50 points in their previous three games, which were all on the road.

The Bears had another sparkling defensive effort, holding an opponent without a touchdown for the second time in their last three games. This time it was on the road against the Niners in a 14-9 victory that kept the No. 2 seed in the NFC on the table. Three weeks ago the Bears smothered the Rams in a 15-6 win. Chicago’s offense has slowed a bit, but that defense could give the Saints problems if they were to meet in the playoffs.

With New Orleans locking up the top seed and the Bears on a roll, the Rams have become a forgotten team in the NFC. They stopped a two-game losing streak with a win over the Cards and things returned to normal. But it was Arizona and the Rams will need to show they can beat the best in order to get to Atlanta. They lost to the Saints, Bears and Eagles, three clubs still on the odds board.

Oddsmakers are still backing the Chiefs despite two straight losses. The AFC is more convoluted with the top teams experiencing some hiccups late in the year. But KC still appears to be the best team in the conference with their four losses by a combined 14 points. The Pats were less than dominant in their win over the Bills last week and the Bolts blew a chance to improve their standing with a loss to the Ravens, who improved their odds to +1,450 by winning five of their last six games.

There are only two playoff openings as we enter the final weekend of play. The AFC North and the second wild card in the conference will be decided, as will the final wild card spot in the NFC. The Cleveland Browns won for the fifth time in six games, but they were eliminated from playoff contention last week, joined by the Panthers, Dolphins and Redskins.
