Super Bowl 53 Odds Update Week 8 – NFL Futures Lines

The Los Angeles Rams kept their perfect season alive by winning their seventh straight with a thorough beating of NFC West rival San Francisco last week. And as a result they remain the favorite at +235 on the updated Super Bowl LIII odds board at BookMaker.eu. Responding to their first loss of the season, the Kansas City Chiefs made a jump to the second favorite on the board at +550 with a Sunday night win over Cincinnati. Ironically, they leapfrogged the Patriots, the only team to deal the Chiefs a loss this season.

Two teams that didn’t even play last week saw their Super Bowl odds improve due to all the commotion that took place around the league. Pittsburgh’s odds improved to +1685 while the Seattle Seahawks are still down on the board but saw their odds jump to +7500. The Jacksonville Jaguars continued their free fall in the standings and on the odds board with their third straight loss. The Jags fell below .500 for the first time this season and watched their odds skyrocket to +7700. The Bengals were also a big loser following the loss to the Chiefs. The odds are fluid and will continue to move until playoff time, but here’s a look at the current Super Bowl 53 odds at BookMaker.eu after Week 7 of the 2018 NFL regular season.

The Rams are about to embark on the most difficult part of their 2018 schedule as they look to remain perfect on the year. They face Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers this week followed by a trip to New Orleans in a battle of NFC heavyweights. They return home after that matchup in the Big Easy for confrontations with the Seahawks and, dare we say, a possible Super Bowl preview tilt with the Chiefs in Week 11. If the Rams are going to lose a game this season, it’ll probably happen in that four-week stretch.

We kept saying to hold off on the Rams because their schedule was set up to give them a better price. But they are the most complete team in the league and their defense made a statement against the Niners last week. Aaron Donald led a group that recorded seven sacks and four takeaways. It was against a beaten up team, but impressive nonetheless. Even if the Rams lose a game their odds likely won’t be affected too much.

Same goes for the Chiefs, who have the attention of oddsmakes with their blistering start. Even a loss to the defending AFC champion Patriots wasn’t enough to sway their odds. KC actually moved ahead of the team that beat them on the odds board this week. Behind Patrick Mahomes, who is a serious contender for league MVP, the Chiefs offense is unstoppable. And their defense has looked better, too. Could this be the year the Chiefs exorcise the playoff demons?

We are starting to see some definition on the odds. There is a group of favorites, a large middle-of-the-pack contingent and the group that has no chance. Those middle-of-the-packers can join one of the other two groups over the next few weeks, but it’s unlikely that we’ll see a team from the favorites join the bottom-feeders or vice-versa.

The Jags had the biggest fall of any team over the last few weeks. They were among the favorites after knocking off New England emphatically in Week 2. However, losses in four of their next five games, including three in a row all by double digits has Doug Marrone searching for answers.

No one is talking about the Washington Redskins, who lead the NFC East and have a favorable schedule the rest of the way. The Skins are available at a good price of +4000 and could be a sleeper. We have seen stranger things happen.
