Where is the smart money going in the NFL for Week 17? This week is one of the toughest for the oddsmakers, as some teams will be playing with a lot of motivation, while other teams will be holding out starters. There is still one playoff spot up for grabs in the AFC, with the Titans, Steelers and Raiders still alive, while in the NFC it is all about seeding. The wiseguys went 2-2-1 on last week’s side plays and 3-2 on their totals. It should be noted that some of this week’s line moves are based more on situation than anything else. Let’s take a look at the Week 17 NFL Wiseguy picks.

Week 17 NFL Wiseguy Picks
Tennessee Titans -3.5 at Houston Texans
The Titans need to win this game to make the playoffs so bettors are all over the Titans in this one. We have seen many times in the past that teams fail in these must-win situations against teams that have nothing to play for, but there is no denying the Titans have more motivation than the Texans who have already clinched a playoff spot.
Chicago Bears +1 at Minnesota Vikings
This line was radically adjusted after the Vikings lost to the Packers because now Minnesota has nothing to play for. The Vikings are locked into the No. 6 seed in the upcoming playoffs. It still seems risky to me to go against a Minnesota team that needs to play better heading into the playoffs.
Indianapolis Colts -3.5 at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars seem to have packed it in for the season, while the Colts are still playing hard. The wiseguys and the public are all over the Colts in this one and that might make you a little nervous.
Atlanta Falcons +1 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The wiseguys like the Falcons on the road in this one, as the Bucs opened as a 3-point favorite. This is a nothing game that will likely see a lot of points, so it does look like a coin flip.
Washington Redskins +10.5 at Dallas Cowboys
This line moved toward the Redskins after the Cowboys lost to the Eagles last week. The Cowboys could still sneak into the playoffs with a win and a Philadelphia loss to the Giants, but the wiseguys are taking the points with the Redskins in this game.
New Orleans Saints -13 at Carolina Panthers
The Saints still have a shot at the No. 1 overall seed, while the Panthers seemingly have quit on the season. There is nothing to like about the Panthers and the wiseguys are all over the Saints in this one.
Pittsburgh Steelers -2 at Baltimore Ravens
This is another game that has moved based on the situation. The Ravens announced they are holding out Lamar Jackson and some other starters, while the Steelers can make the playoffs with a win and a Tennessee loss. How much confidence you can have in Devlin Hodges on the road is questionable, but the line has moved toward Pittsburgh.
New York Jets +1 at Buffalo Bills
The Bills have nothing to play for, as they are locked into their Wild Card spot and most people expect the Bills to rest starters. The Jets are still a risky play even against a Buffalo team playing some second string players, but the line has moved toward New York.
Green Bay Packers -13 at Detroit Lions
The Packers could take the No. 1 seed with some help and they are also playing for a bye, so they will be motivated to win at Detroit. The Lions have been awful this season and bettors want nothing to do with Detroit.
Kansas City Chiefs -8.5 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chiefs could get a bye if the Patriots lose their game against the Dolphins. That seems unlikely, so this seems like a risky play on the Chiefs, especially if New England gets off to a fast start against Miami.
San Francisco 49ers -3 at Seattle Seahawks
The 49ers got the early money in this one, as the Seahawks are dealing with injuries. The Seahawks did sign Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin, but how effective they will be is in debate and there has been no buyback on Seattle after this line moved from a pick to San Francisco -3.
Oakland Raiders +3 at Denver Broncos
The Raiders have a chance to make the playoffs if they win this game and Tennessee and Pittsburgh lose. It seems unlikely, but stranger things have happened and the early money is on the Raiders in this game.
The wiseguy totals this week are Tennessee and Houston under 45, Cincinnati and Cleveland under 44.5, Chicago and Minnesota under 37, Indianapolis and Jacksonville under 43, Atlanta and Tampa Bay under 48, New Orleans and Carolina under 46, Pittsburgh and Baltimore under 37, Green Bay and Detroit over 43 and the Chargers and Chiefs under 44.5
