Wild Card Wiseguy Picks

Wild Card Wiseguy Picks

Where is the smart money going in the NFL for Wild Card weekend? In a bit of an oddity, both conferences play on the same day, with the AFC games on Saturday and the NFC games on Sunday. It is just the second time since the NFL went to the current division format that the games have been scheduled this way. The Bills visit the Texans and the Patriots host the Titans on Saturday, while the Vikings are at the Saints and the Eagles host the Seahawks on Sunday. The wiseguys went a very profitable 8-4 on last week’s side plays but got destroyed on totals going 0-8-1. Let’s take a look at the NFL Wiseguy picks for Wild Card weekend.

Wild Card Wiseguy Picks

Buffalo Bills +2.5 at Houston Texans

This line opened with Houston listed as a 3-point favorite and the wiseguys have taken the Bills plus the points. Buffalo has been an excellent road dog, going 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine road games, while Houston is just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 home games. It is understandable why the wiseguys are on the Bills, but keep in mind if you play this game you are getting 2.5 points, while the wiseguys already got their three.

Tennessee Titans +4.5 at New England Patriots

The Patriots opened up as a 5.5-point favorite and the number is down to 4.5. I was surprised the Patriots were such a big favorite when this number was posted, as New England looks nothing like a Super Bowl contender. The wiseguys definitely give Tennessee a chance in this one and I see no reason the Titans can’t win this game outright. The Titans are 6-3 ATS in their last nine road games, while the Patriots are just 3-4 ATS in their last seven home games.

New Orleans Saints -8 vs. Minnesota Vikings

The Saints opened as a touchdown favorite and the line is now up to 8. This is a revenge game for the Saints from a couple of years ago when they lost at Minnesota on a miracle play from the Vikings on the last play of the game. The wiseguys don’t expect this game to be close, as they are taking the Saints. The Vikings are 5-4 ATS in their last nine road games, while the Saints are 5-3 ATS in their last eight home games.

Seattle Seahawks -1.5 at Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles opened up as a 1-point favorite and the money has come in on Seattle, as they are now a 1.5-point favorite. The Eagles have overcome a lot of injuries to get this far, but the wiseguys think their run ends on Sunday. The Seahawks have been an excellent road team this season, going 7-1, while the Eagles are 5-3 at home.

Totals

Bills-Texans Over 43.5

This total opened at 41 and has been bet up to 43.5. You have to almost take any total the wiseguys play with a grain of salt, as totals have not been their forte this season. I don’t get this line move at all, as the Bills have one of the best defenses in the league.

Titans-Patriots Over 44

The total on this game opened at 42.5 and is up to 44. This is another line move I don’t get, as the Titans and Patriots are two defensive teams with offenses that are nothing special.

Vikings-Saints Over 49.5

This total opened at 47 and the money has come pouring in on the over as the number is up to 49.5. This is the one total line move that I totally get. These two teams have explosive offenses and neither defense really scares you.
