SOCCER PREMIER LEAGUE ARTICLES

To say that there isn't any love lost between Arsenal and Tottenham would be a tremendous understatement. These two London sides absolutely cannot stand each other, and this first matchup of the year of these two rivals should show that tremendous disdain, particularly off of an international hiatus.... 

If you're a hardcore soccer fanatic, Sunday is the day for you. The middle game of an EPL tripleheader will pit the table-toppers, Manchester City against a team that badly needs to string some wins together to start to get back into the championship discussion, Arsenal.This Barclays Premier League duel will go down Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 9:15 a.m. ET at Etihad Stadium. Four Premier League matchups. Three MLS playoff games. Soccer fans will have their fill for sure on Sunday, as they can literally turn on the television at 7 a.m. and only have a brief couple of hours without soccer around lunchtime through almost 10 p.m.The middle showcase of "Super Sunday" will pit Chelsea against Manchester United in what could be a crucial match in the coaching career of Antonio Conte. Jose Mourinho would surely love nothing more than to be the final dagger in Conte's time at Chelsea.... 

AFC Bournemouth is probably one of the tougher luck teams in the early stages of the Premier League season. The Cherries have a fairly dreadful -7 goal differential and have just seven points to show for their first nine matches of the year, but they've deserved better in a number of their games. They'll have a shot at turning the tide just a bit when Chelsea comes to Dean Court on Saturday.... 

Both Manchester United and Tottenham are both running a serious risk at this early juncture of the season. The hole both are facing to try to dig out of in the quest for the 2017-18 Premier League title is already five points to Manchester City. With as well as the Citizens are playing, neither team is going to get away with falling too far behind if they want to seriously contend. The fact that the Red Devils are Spurs are set to play against each other on Saturday to kick off Match Day 10 in the BPL is only likely to further boost City's chances of ultimately winning the league title.... 

Tottenham Hotspur has managed to put together a completely spotless away record this season at 4-0-0 with 12 goals for and just two conceded. That said, here at their temporary home at Wembley Stadium, they're just 1-2-1 and have only netted three goals. That's not good news with Liverpool coming to town in a clash that could have top four implications this season.... 

Tottenham Hotspur is going to get the first chance to put some pressure on the teams at the top of the Premier League table in Match Day 6 this weekend. The Spurs travel to West Ham United in a tea time kickoff with hopes of ultimately getting back into the top four at the early juncture of the campaign.This English Premier League duel will go down Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 7:30 a.m. ET at London Stadium. If you talked to Jurgen Klopp right now, he wouldn’t be a happy man. The press has been brutal to him and his Liverpool side all season long, though we must admit that much of it is deserved. The Reds haven’t looked anything like a title contender in a year that was supposed to be its jumping off point with Klopp leading the way, per se. Manchester United has very loudly proclaimed itself as one of the favorites to win the Premier League this season after three matches in which it outscored the opposition by a combined score of 10-0. The tests haven't been huge thus far in the campaign, though, and traveling to Stoke City is never an easy task for anyone in the top flight.... 

There isn't a team anywhere in the world who has come out of the blocks in better form than Manchester United. The Red Devils aren't going to beat everyone 4-0 this season, but they'll be expecting a third straight victory to kick off the campaign against Leicester City in Match Day 3.... 

The clock is starting to tick quickly on Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman has done himself no favors in his contract season with Arsenal to date, as his team hasn't looked anything like a championship-caliber side. Wenger's next task of traveling to Anfield to take out Liverpool seems to be too difficult to accomplish.... 

Antonio Conte has to be scratching his head over what's gone on thus far this season with his Chelsea side. The Blues haven't been the better team on the pitch in either of their first two games of the season, and now, they have to play against an Everton team that has definitively been the better squad for the majority of the minutes it has played thus far in 2017-18.... 

Bournemouth has had a pretty lousy start to the season. The Cherries have yet to pick up a point on the young season, and this week isn't a good time for any of that to change. Manchester City is fortunate to have picked up four points on the young campaign, and it theoretically shouldn't have a problem adding to its tally this year.... 

Last season, Tottenham and Chelsea battled down to the last weeks of the season for the Premier League title. The Spurs finished a distant second in the end, but they certainly showed their worth and stated their intentions of challenging for the title again this season. The fact that Swansea United is still playing in the Premier League this season has to excite fans at Liberty Stadium. Wayne Rooney isn't waiting long before he returns to Manchester. Of course, the former Manchester United striker isn't going to be welcomed back to the city he spent much of his career in with open arms, especially since he was always a villain to Manchester City. We'd be lying if we said there were anything but ridiculously high hopes this year in Anfield. Liverpool is back in the Champions League this season, a move that should only provide a huge boon to the club. The opening weekend of Premier League soccer is about as exciting as it gets in sports. The 20 teams that are all in the top flight have visions of a successful campaign by their own measure, though each and every one will have the images of Leicester City celebrating a championship in their heads as a remote possibility. You knew that Newcastle's stay in the second division wasn't going to last all that long. Watford is being tipped by many this season as a possible threat for relegation. The Community Shield technically isn't a match that means all that much for any of the teams involved. That said, it's the official kickoff of the 2017-18 season, and it's going to be the first shot any team has of sending an initial message to Chelsea, the team ran roughshod on the rest of the Premier League last season. Arsenal will get that chance, and it'll be a nice chance to see if Arsene Wenger can kick off the season in top form after the most embattled year of his career last season.... 

The bloody fact of the matter is that Arsenal fans probably shouldn't be quite as disappointed with the way the 2016-2017 Premier League season went down as they are. Heading into the last match day against Everton, they have a shot to finish in the Top 4, and that alone, in a campaign filled with injury problems and the general issue of flat out not having one of the four most talented teams in England has left the Gunners reeling....
