Jurgen Klopp's second season with Liverpool isn't necessarily going to be one for the record books, but it definitely can be one that delivers fruitfulness down the road. The Reds need three points to ensure a spot in the Champions League next season, and their last match day could be much easier against Middlesbrough at home.... 

Technically speaking, Manchester City has yet to lock up a Top 4 finish in the Premier League. The Citizens will need at least a point to get the job done against Watford, but if by chance they're behind, they're going to be scoreboard watching for what's going on at the Emirates. Arsenal can hop into the Top 4 with a win and a Man City loss if the two results combine to be by more than five goals.... 

Tottenham Hotspur won't ultimately win the Premier League this year, but Mauricio Pochettino is still insisting upon his club finishing out the season in tip top form. The Spurs have already locked up second best in England at this point regardless of what happens in these last two fixtures though, so Leicester City might have a shot at beating the runners-up in the league.... 

Manchester United's dream of finishing in the Top 4 in the Premier League this year are finished. The Red Devils were blasted at Tottenham, and now, they have no mathematical way of finishing with a Champions League spot without winning the Europa League. As a result, this match against Southampton is probably going to feel like a drab season-ending fixture without much in the way of passion on either side.... 

Even if Tottenham does find itself mathematically eliminated from title contention heading into its 36th match of the season – a very likely result given that Chelsea needs three points on Friday at West Brom to secure the championship – White Hart Lane supporters will surely give their Spurs a rousing tribute for one of the better seasons in the club's history and a great sendoff to WHL. What can't be lost in all of this? Manchester United still has a Top 4 spot that it can go claim, and this match might be the biggest deterrent to that for the rest of the campaign.... 

The Barclays Premier League trophy will be on display at The Hawthorns on Friday night, and of course, it has nothing to do with the home team. Chelsea has a chance to wrap up the EPL championship for the second time in the last three seasons if it can beat West Brom on its home turf, a victory that would seal Antonio Conte in the historical lore at Stamford Bridge once and for all in his first ever campaign with the team.... 

The resolve of Tottenham Hotspur right now is insane. The club just continues pouring pressure on Chelsea for the top spot in the EPL. Time is running out though, as there are just four matches left to be played, and the margin at the top of the league sits at four points. Can the Spurs draw within one? They probably don't have a choice against West Ham on the road if they expect to keep the Blues within striking distance.This English Premier League duel will go down Friday, May 5, 2017, at 3 p.m. ET at Olympic Stadium. Three more wins. That's all it's going to take for Chelsea in its last four matches to be able to declare itself as a champion. Arsenal hasn't been in the best form of late, but it has managed to at least stay in the chase for the Top 4 with five matches left to play. The margin to make up is six to Manchester City and five to the team that will be visiting the Emirates on Sunday, Manchester United. They call it Saint Totteringham's Day. For Arsenal supporters, this is the day that the Gunners clinch finishing in front of Tottenham in the EPL season. Twenty-two years ago marked the first Saint Totteringham's Day. But for the first time, since 1994-95, Tottenham is going to finish in front of the Gunners. What will the Spurs supporters call it? We're not sure. The countdown for Chelsea is on. The Blues are holding their four-point edge in the Premier League with five matches left to play. Four more wins will get the job done and clinch the title. The cry of Manchester has been loud this season. Both City and United have really failed to live up to expectations, but both still absolutely have the ability to finish in the Top 4 thanks to the fact that Liverpool dropped over the weekend at home to Crystal Palace. The two Manchester squads will face off on Thursday night in what could be a crucial tilt with just six matches remaining for both teams and just one point separating them for the last spot in the Top 4 at the moment.... 

Crystal Palace threw a bit of a wrench into the Premier League title chase when it went on the road and found a way to beat Chelsea to kick off April. Tottenham hoping that there isn't another wrench that is tossed into the mix when it visits Selhurst Park for its annual date at the Eagles.... 

The pressure is officially on Chelsea. The Blues are still fairly clear in the Premier League on Tottenham, but the way the Spurs are playing, that margin of four points could disappear in a hurry. Chelsea's 33rd duel of the season comes against Southampton on Tuesday, and if this match is won, you'd like to think that the pressure will be back on the Spurs, who play at Crystal Palace on Wednesday.... 

For all intents and purposes, Arsene Wenger only has one thing left to manage for in his career. He knows that he's effectively done managing at the end of this season when he gets run out of North London, but the last gift he can still leave for Arsenal would be an FA Cup. The Gunners are in a loaded semifinals, and their matchup against Manchester City will end up being incredibly tough.... 

Chelsea and Tottenham are separated in the Premier League by just four points. Their match against one another in the first FA Cup semifinal at Wembley Stadium is big in that, one will be on their way to the cup final, but it might be even bigger in that, it could serve as a psychological blow to the other in the ultimate quest of winning the EPL crown.... 

Crystal Palace's fine form has guided it to the outside of the red zone and into safety for the time being. At this point, Sunderland has to be conceded to life next season in Championship. The Black Cats only have 20 points in their first 30 matches, and unless they go on a run for the ages over these last eight affairs where they pick up at least six wins, the second division will be their home next year. Alas, things don't seem great for Manchester United either in spite of the fact that the Red Devils are sporting the longest streak without a loss in the EPL at 20 matches heading into the weekend.This BPL duel will go down Sunday, April 9, 2017, at 8:30 a.m. ET at the Stadium of Light. The season really hangs in the balance for Everton at this point. Ronald Koeman's club badly needed to get something out of a trip to Anfield over the weekend and couldn't, and now, another setback on the road at Manchester United will very likely end any hope the team has of a Top 5 finish and the trip into European competition next season that would go with it.... 

Chelsea entered its 29th match of the season against Crystal Palace knowing that seven wins in its last nine affairs would wrap up the Premier League title. The Blues just couldn't seem to find the finishing touch and ended up suffering their second loss at home this season. It's not the end of the world yet, but if the Blues happen to lose again versus Manchester City on Wednesday, it'll be game on in the EPL once again for sure.... 

A pair of embattled bosses are going to be squaring off at the Emirates on Wednesday night. Arsene Wenger might have finally gotten himself a bit of respite in the form of a draw against Manchester City, but his Arsenal side still has a lot to do at the end of the season to keep the Frenchman on good terms. Meanwhile, West Ham heads into this London derby having given manager Slaven Bilic the dubious "vote of confidence," which usually means anything but the fact that the board has the utmost confidence in his abilities to lead this team.... 

It's no April Fools that Liverpool finds itself in the Top 4 with nine fixtures left to play. What is a bit foolish is that the Reds are still not exactly favored to finish with a spot in the Champions League next year with Manchester United and Arsenal four and six points back respectively with each team having two games in hand. This Everton team still has a fighting shot for European play next year, and it shouldn't be considered a certain laydown at Anfield to kick off April's fixtures in the BPL.... 

Chelsea continues to rumble towards what has seemed like a given of a Premier League title for months on end. The Blues have a 10-point cushion with 10 matches left to go, and their quest for 20 in these last 10 fixtures continues after a week off against lowly Crystal Palace and a match that probably shouldn't see any points lost.... 

There's no denying the fact that Arsene Wenger has done a tremendous deed at Arsenal over the years. However, just as it was time for Bobby Bowden to step down from Florida State or Joe Paterno to step down from Penn State or John Wooden to walk away from UCLA, it's time for Wenger to go. It's really gotten caustic between Wenger and the fans at the Emirates, and that makes it hard to tip the Gunners against Man City on Sunday.... 

Antonio Conte has insisted that his team continue to put the foot on the gas pedal and not give up needless points at this late stage of the season even though the EPL title feels like it's firmly in hand. The Blues have some tricky missions ahead of them, not the least of which will come on Monday night against West Ham in a London derby....
