Atlantic 10 Conference NCAA Tournament Betting
The Atlantic 10 could easily put multiple teams in the NCAA Tournament once again. Davidson has essentially locked up a spot in March Madness, as the Wildcats are 25-4 overall with a 15-2 conference record. VCU and Dayton are squarely on the bubble and teams like St. Louis, Richmond, and George Washington could get hot next week.
It's been a very strong year for Davidson. The Wildcats lost two of their first three games, but defeats at the hands of San Francisco and New Mexico State no longer look like bad losses. This team has gone on to win 24 of its next 26 games with victories over Alabama, Richmond, VCU, St. Bonaventure, and St. Louis. Davidson ranks 12th in effective field goal percentage and 13th in three-point percentage as Foster Loyer, Luka Brajkovic, and Michael Jones are all making at least 42% of their threes.
VCU always seems to be in the hunt for the conference title. The Rams rank fourth nationally in defense, and they turn opponents over at a prodigious rate while playing great perimeter defense. They have decent non-conference wins over Vanderbilt and Syracuse, but a home loss to Wagner stings quite a bit. VCU has won eight straight games coming into its season finale against St. Louis.
Everyone was celebrating Dayton a few years ago when the Flyers crept into the top five, but this year’s team has been much more topsy-turvy. The Flyers lost at home to bad teams like UMass Lowell, Lipscomb, and Austin Peay early in the season, but they responded the next week by beating Miami (FL), Kansas, and Belmont in the ESPN Invitational. An additional non-conference win over Virginia Tech looks really good, but its tough to know what the Selection Committee will do with the Flyers.

The Atlantic 10 has been hit hard by conference realignment for decades. Power conference teams like Villanova, Penn State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Rutgers, and Xavier used to be in the A10, and Temple was part of the league for a long time too before leaving for the AAC. Butler was supposed to bring new stability before bolting for the Big East, yet the A10 continues to be a solid conference with relatively new schools like VCU, George Mason, and Davidson.
Thanks to John Cheney and his fantastic run with Temple back in the day, the Owls still hold the record for the most A-10 Tournament championships with nine. This is a record that won't be broken for quite some time. UMass is next in line with five among the active teams, but that's not saying much since the Minutemen haven’t won this conference title since 1996.
Repeating as A-10 champs is incredibly tough. The last team to do it was Temple, which won three straight titles from 2008 through 2010. The last team not named Temple to win the A-10 Tournament in successive years was in the mid-90s when John Calipari's Minutemen rolled off five consecutive titles, their only tournament victories.
VCU has made the A10 Championship Game six times since 2013, but the Rams are just 1-5 with the automatic bid on the line.
