Atlantic Coast Conference NCAA Tournament Betting
It’s been a strange season of basketball in the ACC. One of the traditional powerhouse conferences has had a very down year, as the Duke Blue Devils are the only team that we absolutely know will make it to the NCAA Tournament. There are currently five teams on the bubble, and even teams like Virginia and Florida State can play their way into contention with a strong next 10 days.
Duke has locked up another regular season championship. The Blue Devils will earn the No. 1 seed in the ACC Tournament no matter what happens against North Carolina in their regular season finale. Paolo Banchero is likely to be named ACC Player of the Year, and that has Coach Mike Krzyzewski looking to make one more deep NCAA Tournament run before he rides off into retirement. Coach K is four wins away from 1,200 career victories, and he is easily the winningest head coach in Division I college basketball history.
Long-time rival North Carolina is currently in line to land the No. 3 seed, but the Tar Heels can move a lot with a win or a loss over Duke on Saturday. This team has nice non-conference wins over Michigan and Furman, yet a home loss against Pittsburgh two weeks ago really hurt them. This defense isn’t that good and doesn’t turn over opponents, so Armando Bacot, Caleb Love, Brady Manek, and R.J. Davis need to hit shots.
Virginia Tech and Wake Forest are both ranked ahead of North Carolina according to Ken Pomeroy. The Hokies were 10-10 in late January, but they have since won nine of their last ten games to put themselves on the bubble. They really need a road win over Clemson on Saturday though. As for the Demon Deacons, Bubble Watch has Wake Forest firmly in the tournament at this point.
Atlantic Coast Tournament Format
All 15 teams will be participating in this year’s ACC Tournament. The 2022 ACC Tournament will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York from March 8-12, 2022. The No. 10 through No. 15 seeds will have to play in the first round on Tuesday, March 8, and the winners from that day will advance to the second round where five more teams await. The No. 1 through No. 4 seeds are given automatic double byes into the ACC Tournament and don’t begin play until Thursday, March 10.
ESPN will broadcast the ACC Championship Game on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

The Greensboro Coliseum hosts the ACC Tournament this year, and even though the venue is now part of a rotation and doesn’t host on an annual basis, the road to the tournament championship always goes through the state of North Carolina. Of the previous 67 editions of this event, a whopping 53 of them have been won by the four North Carolina schools.
Duke and North Carolina have been the dominant teams in the ACC Tournament. The two schools have combined for 39 – over half – of the ACC Tournament triumphs and at least one of them had played in the ACC Tournament Championship Game every year since 1997 prior to last season.
N.C. State has 10 ACC Tournament championships, but none since 1987. The Wolfpack are 0-4 in title games since that last win over three decades ago. Wake Forest hasn’t been to the title game since winning the second of back-to-back championships in 1996 behind ACC Tournament MVP Tim Duncan.
Clemson was an original member of the ACC in 1953 and has played in every single ACC Tournament. However, the Tigers have never won the event and have only been to the final twice. Meanwhile, instate rival South Carolina has an ACC championship from back in 1971, its final year in the ACC.
