The Rose roster will be an interesting test case for the value of efficiency in the 3-on-3 game. Kahleah Copper's ability to create her own shot, Chelsea Gray's playmaking, and Angel Reese's offensive rebounding are all elite, but none scored with above-average efficiency during the 2024 WNBA campaign. (Gray was highly efficient in 2022 and 2023.)
Thanks in part to Lexie Hull's hot post-Olympics shooting, the Laces were solid from beyond the arc last season. Inside it, their players combined to shoot just 45%. No other Unrivaled team was collectively below 48%. With a shorter shot clock, however, the midrange shot making of Copper and Gray could become more relatively valuable. And it will be fascinating to see how Reese's record-setting offensive rebounding translates to Unrivaled. With Reese, Rose has a drawing card and a player who will keep the glass clean.
2025 Unrivaled Game Rules Format
Unrivaled is a professional three-on-three women's basketball league based in the United States. Games are played on a full court with two ends and consist of three seven-minute periods followed by a "winning score" fourth period played under Elam Ending conditions. In Unrivaled's implementation, 11 points are added to the leading team's (or tied teams') score at the end of the third period. The game then continues with no game clock but with an active shot clock, and the first team to reach or exceed the "winning score" wins.
