Antonio Margarito vs Miguel Cotto Betting OddsBoxing Betting Lines: Miguel Cotto (36-2, 29 KOs) last fought in March, defeating Ricardo Mayorga. Antonio Margarito (38-7, 27 KOs) hasn't fought since last November, when he was pulverized by Manny Pacquiao. Pacman literally broke Margarito's face, fracturing an orbital bone. Although the fight isn't for another four months, odds are already up at the Bookmaker sportsbook for those of you who bet on boxing.

The fighters first met in July 2008 in a memorable battle that resulted in Cotto's first career loss. Margarito was later suspended for bringing loaded gloves into the ring against Shane Mosley in January 2009. Any win prior to his suspension has now been questioned, including the 11th round TKO over Cotto.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is proposing the rematch be held at Madison Square Garden in New York, where Cotto is a big draw among the large Puerto Rican community. It is not yet known whether the fight will be televised on HBO or Showtime.

Currently, Antonio Margarito is a +155 underdog to win, while Cotto is the favorite at -185. The over/under is set at 10.5 rounds, with the over getting a -125 total and the under at -105. Check the Bookmaker sportsbook for daily updated odds!

Cotto vs Margarito 2: Miguel Cotto vs Antonio Margarita destroys Marg

When the fight ended in the ninth round, Margarito looked broken with one swelling eye and a face that was bleeding from several places. For a man who had won the fight handsomely just three years ago, this seems a real low.

Miguel Cotto, on the other hand looked on a high with at least twenty one thousand spectators seated at Madison Square Garden in New York, cheering for him. But despite the abrupt end of the fight in the tenth round, Antonio Margarito was still standing on his feet and notwithstanding the fact that he couldn’t open one of his eyes, he was ready for more rounds.

So notwithstanding the defeat Antonio Margarito’s loss was not that one-sided and he still seems to have a few years of boxing left in him.

Miguel Cotto was definitely in control most of the time, but it would be wrong to say that it was a one sided fight. Antonio Margarito was still trading punches, though his punches were not as lethal as Cotto’s when the final came and he was announced beaten by the refrees.

A long time boxing fan says, “This only confirms what a lot of people have been saying. Cotto was robbed and cheated in the first fight. Who knows how many other fighters were robbed and cheated? How many other fighters were beaten badly and hurt by a fighter who has used a substance in his gloves. He always knew he is not stupid. As a professional he had to know he was cheating. Think about the punishment he dealt out by using this substance on other fighters. This is a fighter who should be shunned by the boxing world”

Another fan has this to say, “Cotto had an advantage just like Margarita had an advantage the first time around. Yes, Margarito is clearly not the same but neither is Cotto, thanks to Margarito. Every fighter watches his hands being wrapped at all times. No way Margarito didn’t know his wraps were loaded. So he deserves every beating he signs up for, for as long he keeps fighting. It will be his REAL punishment for putting his opponents’ lives at risk”.
