Former junior featherweight, featherweight and junior lightweight champion Morales currently sports a 51-6 record with 35 KOs. A living legend in Mexico, he's won three in a row since coming out of retirement -- albeit against less than stellar competition. Maidana, however, is the real deal.
A native of Argentina, the 27-year old Maidana is a brutal brawler and generally considered one of the top junior welterweights in the world. While he lost to division champion Amir Khan last December, the thrilling fight was voted fight of the year by the Boxing Writers Association of America.
While many feel that this fight is a huge mismatch, Morales seems confident that he'll be able to pull of a dramatic comeback against the younger Maidana. We'll see if Morales has any Rocky VI-like magic to pull of a win for octogenarians around the world. It should be noted that Morales has never had much success above 135 lbs.

Make sure to check Bookmaker,com for official fight lines, but I'd expect Guerrero to be the favorite here. He hasn't fought that many world-class opponents as of yet, so it's difficult to predict what his odds would be against a tough dog like Katsidis.

There probably weren’t many who believed he could do it, but Erik Morales almost turned back the years with his courageous performance against Marcos Maidana on HBO PPV from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday night. The 34-year-old veteran from Tijuana was right in the fight for 10 rounds and the younger, stronger Maidana needed a big finish in the last two rounds to make sure of victory.
Although one judge had the fight a draw the two scores of 116-112 in Maidana’s favour seemed to be the correct ones. For me, it was Maidana early and late, with Morales fighting so well in the middle rounds that an upset looked possible in the junior welterweight title fight.
