Let’s just get one thing straight: despite Cejudo moving up in weight to try and become a double champ, this isn’t what you’d consider a superfight. Why? It just doesn’t feel like one. Cejudo hasn’t had a chance to establish a dominant run like Mighty Mouse or Holloway, and Moraes hasn’t been around the UFC that long. That being said, it’s still an excellent fight between to exciting fighters.
In the co-main event, women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko will make her first title defense against Jessica Eye. Shevchenko most recently cruised to a decision against Joanna Jedrzejczyk to claim the vacant strap, while Eye is rolling on a three-fight win streak. Interestingly enough, Eye had lost four straight before her current run - the turnaround from afterthought to contender has been an eye-opener.
Other highlights on the card include Tai Tuivasa, a heavyweight knockout artist coming off his first career loss. Also, undefeated Tatiana Saurez finds herself in title shot tryout against Nina Ansaroff.

How good is Henry Cejudo? He notched a flash knockout of TJ Dillashaw right after an extremely close split decision win over Demetrious Johnson. But the win over TJ could be seen as an early stoppage, and a lot of people thought that DJ won their fight. It’s not like Cejudo was trucking the flyweight division either. But if he can get through a killer in Moraes, it might be time to start believing the gold medalist as a legitimate pound-for-pound great.
Shevchenko looks primed for a long run as the flyweight champ. Remember, she came within a hair of beating double champ Amanda Nunes twice, and the women’s 125-pound division is paper thin. No disrespect to Jessica Eye, but this seems more like a stay-busy fight for the champ than a legitimate challenge. Let’s hope that Eye can give Valentina a run for her money - oddsmakers certainly don’t believe in her chances.
When Joe Rogan compares a fighter to Khabib Nurmagomedov, that’s some serious cred. Tatiana Suarez got that shine when she ragdolled former champion Carla Esparza, and she’s been tabbed as a future champion ever since she made her debut on The Ultimate Fighter. Though the 115-pound class is top-heavy weight excellent fighters, Suarez could put herself in position for a title challenge with a win over Ansaroff. It won’t be easy, as Ansaroff is on a four-fight win streak that includes wins over Angela Hill, Randa Markos and Claudia Gadelha.
