One of the lightweight division’s best strikers will meet one of its best submission wrestlers. Edson Barboza, famous for his debilitating leg kicks, and Kevin Lee, a grappling beast, are scheduled for the main event of UFC Fight Night 128 on April 21 in Atlantic City. It’s a pivotal matchup at 155, as the Brazilian is No. 4 overall, and Lee is coming off a failed bid for the interim lightweight title at UFC 216.
While the title picture is crowded right now, with Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov squaring off for the real title, and Conor McGregor supposedly waiting in the wings, the winner of Lee-Barboza will be on a short list of worthy challengers. Plus, it’s just a rad style matchup between two dudes with elite skills in different disciplines.
Also on the card is David Branch, who simultaneously held the middleweight and light heavyweight title in WSOF. Now permanently at 185 pounds in the UFC, Branch will meet knockout artist Thiago Santos.
While a few fights are still being finalized, take a look at the announced lineup below. Make sure to check in during fight week for in-depth betting previews. We’ve also got UFC odds at BookMaker.eu if they’ve been released.

What to Watch For
Watching Barboza chop down a guy’s legs is sort of like gorging on Brazilian barbeque - it’s a specific indulgence you can only get every once in a while. But will he get enough space to get off against a blanket like Lee? Before meeting Tony Ferguson, the brash American ripped off a five-fight win streak, notching three subs and a TKO. Once Lee attaches himself to you, few fighters have the skill to escape.
Branch was a big fish in a small pond, but he was obliterated by Luke Rockhold in his test against one of the best UFC middleweights. How good can the 36-year old be? While he might not be a title contender, he can definitely settle in a top 185-pounder. How he handles a banger like Santos will tell us a lot about where Branch belongs. Santos comes in on a four-fight win streak - all coming by way of TKO/KO.
Wales’ Brett Johns is 15-0, with three straight wins inside the octagon. We’re curious about anyone who racks up that kind of undefeated record. Johns will meet the toughest test of his career in Alajamain Sterling, a well-rounded vet who has only lost to the top bantamweights.
Two fringe top-10 light heavyweights, Corey Anderson and Patrick Cummins, will collide to take a small step up the ladder. This should be a competitive bout between two active fighters, as both guys land more than 4.5 strikes per minute and average 4-5 takedowns per 15 minutes. You might get exhausted just watching these two guys go.
