The UFC heads to Chile for the first time - and it’s built a solid Fight Night offering for its fans in Santiago. In the main event, the brash Kamaru Usman will look to enter the welterweight title mix in a matchup against Demian Maia. It’s a compelling clash of grapplers, as Usman is a powerhouse wrestler and Maia is one of the most decorated BJJ artists to ever step inside the octagon.

Two promising strawweight prospects highlight the co-main event, with Mexico’s Alexa Grasso facing off against California’s Tatiana Suarez. Grasso was targeted early for stardom, as an attractive young fighter with a smooth striking style. The UFC still hopes she can grow a fanbase in a boxing-crazed country. Suarez, the TUF 23 winner, is undefeated and already one of the best wrestlers in the division.

Also on the card is the undefeated Dominick Reyes, a former NFL prospect who has developed into a fearsome knockout artist. “The Devastator” gets his toughest opponent yet in Jared Cannonier, an explosive puncher who could easily hand Reyes his first loss.

What to Watch For Usman is a massive favorite over Maia, who has lost two straight against very good wrestlers. Oddsmakers obviously expect the 40-year old to fail in taking down “The Nigerian Nightmare” and imposing the type of grind that earned him a title shot against Tyron Woodley. Just one fight after that loss, Maia was schooled by Colby Covington when he again failed to secure takedowns.

Alexa Grasso and Tatiana Saurez is a compelling matchup between two fighters with title potential. Suarez, a TUF winner, is the type of suffocating wrestler that could give a lot of fighters trouble. Grasso recently suffered her first loss against Felice Herrig, but it was a winnable fight for the smooth striker. It’ll be interesting to see how she makes adjustments, and whether it’ll matter against a fighter of Suarez’ caliber.

Dominick Reyes is a much-needed young talent in a division that’s quickly aging. He’s passed all three of his octagon tests with flying colors, but the competition gets much tougher from here on out. Cannonier is a former heavyweight whose only losses at 205 have come against top 5 fighters in Glover Teixeira and Jan Blachowicz.

Andrea “KGB” Lee makes her UFC debut after becoming one of the most popular women’s flyweights outside the promotion. She’s got the looks, but now it’s time to see if she can hang on the big stage.
