Dern is 11-1 in her career, including 4-1 in her last five fights. She is coming off an armbar submission win against Nina Nunes in April. Dern won by unanimous decision against Virna Jandiroba in December of last year, won by armbar submission against Randa Markos in September of last year, won by kneebar submission against Hannah Cifers in May of last year, and lost to Amanda Ribas by unanimous decision in October of 2019.
Dern has proven to be a good draw for the UFC. It was thought that she was just a pretty face that could draw a crowd, but she has proven she can win fights, as she is 11-1 in her career.
Rodriguez is 14-1-2 in her career, including 3-1-1 in her last five fights. She is coming off a unanimous decision win against Michelle Waterson in May. Rodriguez won by TKO against Amanda Ribas in January, won by unanimous decision against Tecia Torres in August of 2019, lost by split decision against Carla Esparza in July of last year, and fought to a draw against Cynthia Calvillo in December of 2019.
Rodriguez was rolling along until her last three fights with a loss and two draws. She is getting a big chance to impress in this fight against Dern.
Another big fight has Tim Elliot taking on Matheus Nicolau. Elliot is 17-11-1 in his career with three wins coming by TKO/KO and six by submission, while Nicolau is 16-2-1 in his career with four wins coming by TKO/KO and five by submission.
Elliot has struggled lately with only two wins in his last five fights. He gets a fight that he can win against an opponent who is trying to make a name for himself. Nicolau has not lost since July of 2018.
Another key fight has Chris Gutierrez facing Felipe Colares. Gutierrez is 16-4-2 in his career with seven wins by TKO/KO and one by submission, while Colares is 10-2 in his career with two wins coming by TKO/KO and five by submission.
Guiterrez and Colares figure to go with different styles, as Gutierrez would like to keep the fight standing, while Colares wants to fight on the mat.
