Font won by unanimous decision against Cody Garbrandt in May of last year, won by Marlon Moraes by TKO in December of 2020, won by unanimous decision against Ricky Simón in December of 2019, and won by unanimous decision against Sergio Pettis in December of 2018.
Font was rolling along until last time out when he didn’t look good against Aldo in a unanimous decision loss. Font is listed as a slight favorite in this fight against Vera.
Vera is 18-7-1 in his career, including 3-2 in his last five fights. He is coming off a KO win against Frankie Edgar in November of last year. Vera won by unanimous decision against Davey Grant in June of last year, won by TKO against Sean O'Malley in August of 2020, lost by unanimous decision against Jose Aldo in December of 2020, and lost by unanimous decision against Song Yadong in May of 2020.
Vera has bounced back and won his last three fights including a knockout of Frankie Edgar last November. He could be a live underdog in this fight.
