It’s about time a FOX card actually lives up to its network status. UFC on FOX 29 on April 14 is busting out the big guns, which is a relief after a few weak events in 2018. Not only are there some genuine stars, but some of these matchups are downright sick.

Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje are the main event. Those words alone are enough to get an fan’s blood pumping. When was the last time you saw either of those dudes in a boring fight? All you need to know about these guys is that they both have Fight of the Year awards for some epic brawls.

If that wasn’t enough, we’ve also got Carlos Condit in a scrap with Matt Brown. These are two of the most action-oriented fighters at welterweight - high octane, high output strikers who go out on their shields every time.

Also on the card is women’s strawweight contender Michelle Waterson, middleweight uber-prospect Israel Adesanya, the comeback king Tim Boetsch and No. 6 flyweight Wilson Reis.

Take a look at the announced lineup below. Make sure to check in during fight week for in-depth betting previews. We’ve got UFC odds from BookMaker.eu if they’ve been released.

Middleweight - Tim Boetsch vs. Antonio Carlos Junior

Flyweight - Wilson Reis vs. John Moraga

Welterweight - Dhiego Lima vs. Yushin Okami

What to Watch For

Obviously, the main event has so much potential to be an epic clash. Poirier is an athletic guy that can do it all - he can tune you up with his fists or take you down and pound away. And Gaethje seems to morph into a super zombie that eats punches to grow stronger. But will he change his style after his first career loss? His style is an unsustainable way to win, but damn it’s fun to watch.

Carlos Condit and Matt Brown are both fan favorites, and two of the most violent dudes on the welterweight roster. Brown is famous for non-stop pressure, an 8-point fighter who throws the kitchen sink at opponents until they wilt. Condit is creative, dynamic and unpredictable. Expect a ton of bloodshed in this one.

Undefeated Israel Adesanya is a kickboxing sensation that made a huge statement in his UFC debut. We want more of this kid, and we want it now. He’s got the personality and power to be a star, and anyone who can strike like him is super easy to market. All you gotta do is play his highlight reel and we’re sold.

Michelle Waterson is one of the bigger stars at women’s strawweight, and she’s every bit as exciting as she is attractive. Her nickname is “The Karate Hottie” for a reason. However, she’s in desperate need of a win after back-to-back losses, and Cortney Casey is being brought in for a rebound. We’re sure Casey’s not too happy about that.

Heavyweight Arjan Bhullar is a freestyle wrestler who represented Canada at the 2012 Olympic games. He made his UFC debut at UFC 215, preserving a perfect record by beating Luis Henrique Barbosa de Oliveira to improve to 7-0. Fun fact: Bhullar is represented by mega-talent agency CAA, so there’s obvious potential he could be an international sensation, particularly as a successful Indian Sikh fighter.
