Making its second consecutive bowl-game appearance, the Arkansas State Red Wolves will face Mid-American Conference (MAC) member Bowling Green at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Ala., in a contest set to be televised by ESPN. Completing the regular season with a 7-5 overall record, A-State is currently one of just three programs in the country to increase its win total each year since 2022. Despite being picked to finish fourth in the Sun Belt's West Division, A-State tied for second with a league record of 5-3. The five conference wins were the most for the Red Wolves since 2019.

Founded in 1999, the former LendingTree Bowl is held at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. This will be the second time the 68 Ventures Bowl is held at this venue. Previously, Ladd Peebles Stadium was home to the LendingTree Bowl. Hancock Whitney Stadium is home to the South Alabama Jaguars.

In recent years, LendingTree Bowl action has entertained fans with high-scoring offensive shootouts. Six of the last eight matchups saw the winning team score 34 or more points, and seven different schools have won the previous eight Lending Tree Bowls.
In 2022, Southern Miss became the winningest team in 68 Ventures Bowl history. The Eagles beat the Rice Owls 38-24. MVP RB Frank Gore Jr ran for 329 yards and two TDs.
In 2023, the South Alabama Jaguars were in control of the 68 Ventures Bowl in Mobile from the first few minutes of the contest. It was one of the more one-sided contests this bowl season, ending in a final score of 59-10. The victory was also South Alabama's first-ever FBS bowl win. Without Carter Bradley, USA started Desmond Trotter at quarterback. Trotter threw for 115 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He also rushed for a touchdown. The Jaguars quickly building a large lead gave them the opportunity to get freshman Gio Lopez some significant snaps. Lopez threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns. Lopez also carried seven times for 88 yards and a touchdown. Lopez was named the bowl's MVP.
