NC State Wolfpack CFB Week 13 Betting Lines
One year ago, at this time, NC State Wolfpack Dave Doeren warned fans that if they and donors did not step up investments into NIL, the Wolfpack would fall permanently behind. That prophecy has proven correct, as the Wolfpack has been a marginal bowl game contender. NC State is coming off a bye week that followed a loss at home against the Duke Blue Devils. This week, NC State hits the road to face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. NC State needs one more win to salvage a bowl bid.

The Blue Devils allowed just one touchdown and forced a pair of takeaways, while Todd Pelino had two long field goals in spoiling the Wolfpack's home finale.
Jordan Moore had a leaping 45-yard touchdown grab late in the first quarter to give Duke a 12-0 lead, while Sahmir Hagans had a 9-yard scoring catch early in the fourth to put Duke up 26-12. There was also Murphy using his 6-foot-5, 230-pound frame to push through a goal-line collision for a 3-yard score - his first career rushing TD - to make it 19-12 with 4:37 left in the third.
And Pelino hit from 50 yards out in the first quarter and knocked through a critical 49-yarder with 2:12 left in the fourth to make it a two-possession game.
Otherwise, the game largely belonged to Duke's defense, which set an early tone by smothering Wolfpack freshman quarterback CJ Bailey in the end zone for a safety on NC State's second offensive snap.
Duke also forced a fumble by Bailey on the ensuing possession, then got Terry Moore's interception in the fourth when Bailey's off-target pass for Justin Joly bounced off Joly's hands to Moore to set up Hagans' score.
Bailey threw for 184 yards, and a 16-yard touchdown catch to a sliding Wesley Grimes, who got his knees down inbounds on the left side for the fourth-down score that brought the Wolfpack within 26-19 with 9:01 left.

The NC State Wolfpack has 11 conference championships. They have never won a national championship. Yet, Wolfpack fans continue to have an overinflated sense of what the program should be compared to its history. Especially when you consider that the last NC State conference championship was in 1979. The only season the Wolfpack finished ranked top-10 was in 1974 under Lou Holtz. Chuck Amato produced the only double-digit win season in program history, leading the Wolfpack to an 11-3 mark in 2002.
Current head coach Dave Doeren is the winningest coach in NC State history. Since 2017, Doeren has produced five CFP Top 25 finishes. During his tenure that began in 2013, Doeren has produced eight bowl seasons.
Last year, Doeren begged fans and donors to step it up to help make NC State competitive on the NIL front. Playing in the ACC is a drag on an aspiring playoff program due to lower revenues. Time will tell if NC State goes all in to compete with the ACC’s elite, Clemson and Florida State.
