2024 NFL Hall of Fame Game Betting
The start of another NFL season begins in Canton, Ohio, with the annual Hall of Fame Game. Each year at the site of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the NFL opens its month-long slate of preseason games at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, which is located adjacent to the Hall of Fame building. The game is held in conjunction with the Hall of Fame inductions for that year, which takes place two days later on Saturday. Although it is an exhibition game with plenty of substitutions and players nobody has ever heard of, the Hall of Fame Game attracts a good audience since it’s the first game since the Super Bowl six months earlier.
The NFL attempts to pick teams that are associated with the Hall of Fame inductees. For the 2024 edition of the Hall of Fame Game, the Houston Texans tangle with the Chicago Bears. Most importantly, the Pro Football Hall of Fame will enshrine former Bears standouts Devin Hester, Steve McMichael and Julius Peppers, and former Houston receiver Andre Johnson. Other members of the class of 2024 include Dwight Freeney, Randy Gradishar and Patrick Willis.
The game features two teams with high expectations for the 2024 season. The Texans reached the NFL playoffs by winning the AFC South with a 10-7 record last year and beat the Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card round. Chicago won five of its last eight games in 2023 and used the No. 1 overall pick in the draft to select Caleb Williams. The Bears are making their sixth appearance in the HOF game, the second-most behind Pittsburgh and Dallas. They are 4-1 in their previous five visits. Houston made its only appearance in the HOF game in 2002 ahead of its inaugural season in the NFL.
