The Houston Roughnecks earned a hard-fought 17-9 victory over the Arlington Renegades in Week 4 of the UFL season. In a defensive battle, the Roughnecks managed to make key plays on both sides of the ball to secure their first win of the year. With this result, the UFL standings see the Roughnecks improve to 1-3 while the Renegades remain winless at 0-4.

The Roughnecks’ offense, led by quarterback Reid Sinnett, did just enough to come out on top. Sinnett completed 18 of 28 passes for 191 yards and one touchdown. The ground game was led by the return of Mark Thompson, who rushed for 34 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.

In a defensive battle at the Alamodome, the San Antonio Brahmas emerged victorious over the Michigan Panthers, 19-9. The Brahmas’ relentless defense proved to be the difference-maker, consistently pressuring the Panthers’ quarterbacks and forcing turnovers throughout the game. With this win, San Antonio improves to 3-1 in the UFL standings, while Michigan falls to 2-2.

The Brahmas’ offense, led by quarterback Quinten Dormady, managed to put up just enough points to secure the win. Dormady completed 23 of 37 passes for 269 yards and a touchdown.

The Birmingham Stallions managed to maintain their perfect record in the UFL by narrowly defeating the DC Defenders 20-18 at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, AL. In a game that came down to the wire, kicker Ramiz Ahmed’s 46-yard field goal with just 4 seconds remaining sealed the victory for the Stallions.

The Stallions relied on a balanced offensive attack and timely plays to secure the win. Quarterback Matt Corral completed 19 of 29 passes for 226 yards and one touchdown, while the running game accumulated 130 yards on 33 attempts. The defense held strong when it mattered most, forcing two fumbles and limiting the Defenders to just 251 total yards.

Battlehawks QB A.J. McCarron looked sensational on the day, passing 35/45 for 222 yards with 3 TDs and one interception. He added another 23 yards rushing. McCarron had plenty of support from a strong offensive line that provided more than ample protection. At times, McCarron appeared to have all day to find an open receiver. Jahcour Pearson (10 receptions for 70 yards with 1 TD) and Hakeem Butler (8 receptions for 60 yards) were his favorite targets.

WR Darrius Shepherd also enjoyed a record day with a 60-yard kickoff return that followed an early TD reception by the Showboats WR Vinny Papale. Shepherd finished with 173 total yards on the day. RB Jacob Saylors topped 103 yards on the ground on 15 carries. His best run of the day, a 57-yarder in the 4th quarter, is thus far the UFL’s longest rush on the season. Saylors added another 19 yards on three receptions. Battlehawks’ kicker Andre Szmyt had a 54-yard field goal that put the Battlehawks on the board in the opening series. Later in the game, he contributed a 47-yard field goal. Earlier, Szmyt missed on a 45-yard attempt that ended the UFL league’s streak of perfect field goals on the season at 20.

In addition to a punishing attack from the Battlehawks defense that resulted in 4 sacks for a loss of 32 yards, CB Lavert Hill intercepted Cookus in the first quarter to set up a rushing TD by Wayne Gallman, his first on the season.
