Paris 2024 will host the XXXIII Summer Olympics that will take place from July 26 through August 11, 2024 with the men’s golf competition taking place from Thursday, August 1 through Sunday, August 4. Qualification for the event is based on the World Golf Rankings with the top 15 automatically qualifying and then the highest ranked players from countries that had not already had two qualified players, for a total of 60 players. Golf has only been an Olympic sport three other times and only twice in recent memory. Golf was part of the Summer Olympic Games in 1900 and in 1904 but it was only recently brought back in 2016 and held again in 2021. The 2024 Olympics golf competition will take place from August 1 through August 4. Xander Schauffele from the United States won the gold medal in the last Summer Olympics which was held in Tokyo, Japan in 2021. The Olympic Golf competition will be a 72-hole stroke play tournament with the top player winning the gold medal, second place winning the silver and third place taking the bronze.
