2023 Ryder Cup Golf Betting
The golf world will be watching all of the action at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Guidonia Montecelio, Rome, Italy in late September, as the top golfers in the United States and in Europe fight it out for the 2023 Ryder Cup. This biennial event will run from Friday, September 29 through Sunday, October 1, as the Americans seek to defend their Ryder Cup title, won in 2021. Europe has won 12 of the last 18 Ryder Cups since 1983. This will be the 44th Ryder Cup and because of COVID-19, the Ryder Cup will be taking place in odd-numbered years, as it was not held in 2020, but instead moved to 2021. Future Ryder Cups will now be held in odd-numbered years, while the Presidents Cup will take place in even-numbered years. The United States won the Ryder Cup in 2021 at Whistling Straits, Wisconsin, winning 19-9 over the European team.

44th Ryder Cup at a Glance
Dates: September 29-October 1, 2023
Course: Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, Guidonia, Montecelio, Rome, Italy
Captains: Zach Johnson (USA), Luke Donald (Europe)
Defending Champion: Team United States
The Ryder Cup is unique in that all of the rounds are match play instead of typical tournament stroke play. On Friday and Saturday, the captains will pick teams to play in the foursome and fourball competitions. Also, unlike typical match play like this, there are no playoffs. Matches which end in draws award each team a half point. Winning matches are worth one whether they're won by one shot or multiple shots.
The Ryder Cup has a total of 28 matches over the course of the three days. Eight points are available in each of the first two days of competition, while 12 singles matches are played on Sunday to help determine the winner. A total of 14.5 points are needed to win the Cup and 14 points are required for the defending champion to retain the Cup.
The teams will be finalized later, but we do know who the captains and vice-captains are for the teams. Luke Donald will be captaining Europe, while Zach Johnson will captain of the U.S. team.
