2024 NHL All Star Game Betting
The 2024 NHL All-Star Game will take place on Saturday, February 3 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario. This year’s game will have four teams competing in the three-on-three format that has been used since 2016. This year will be a bit different, however, as the fantasy draft format will be used for the first time since 2015. The players were selected in two stages with the first 32 players selected by the league and then 12 players were selected by fan vote. Captains for each of the four teams are Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers, Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche and brothers Jack Hughes of the New Jersey Devils and Quinn Hughes of the Vancouver Canucks will co-captain the other team. The draft of the teams will take place on February 1. The four coaches will be Jim Montgomery of the Boston Bruins, Peter Laviolette of the New York Rangers, Rick Bowness of the Winnipeg Jets and Rick Tocchet of the Vancouver Canucks.
All-Star weekend will be held from February 1 through February 3. There will be a Canadian Tire Professional Women’s Hockey League 3-on-3 Showcase on Thursday, February 1. The Skills Competition will be held on Friday, February 2. CBC and Sportsnet will televise the Skills Competition and the All-Star Game in Canada, while ABC will show the action in the United States.
The 2024 NHL All-Star Skills competition will be different this year. A total of 12 NHL All-Stars will compete for $1 million dollars. There will be eight events taking place on Friday, February 2. Round One will have each player competing in four of the first six event with points awarded based on their finish. Those events age The Fastest Skater, Hardest Shot, Stick Handling, One-Time Shot, Passing Challenge and Accuracy Shooting. The top eight point-earners advance to Round Two and the seventh event which will be a One-on-One with a player against a goaltender. The top six point-earners will then advance to the Final which is the Obstacle Course where points are doubled. The NHL All-Star with the most points after the eight events will be the winner. The 12 players competing in 2024 are J.T. Miller, Quinn Hughes, Ellias Pettersson, Auston Matthews, William Nylander, Jack Hughes, Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Nikita Kucherov and David Pastrnak.

What has made the current format of the NHL All-Star Game so popular is that fans get three games for one price. The event is comprised of four All-Star teams from each of the NHL’s divisions. The winners of the first two games will then meet for the All-Star Game championship. Each match will have two halves of ten minutes, each with a three-on-three format. If any game is tied after 20 minutes, then the game goes straight to a three-round shootout plus extra rounds if needed.
