Crystal Palace F.C. English Premier League Odds
The Crystal Palace may have succumbed to fire many moons ago, but the football club that was named after it is alive and well today. This will be Crystal Palace’s sixth year in the top flight of English football, their longest stretch to date. Although they have yet to finish higher than 10th in the Premier League, continuing to avoid relegation is a success in itself for a club without much history.
It wasn’t until the 1969-1970 season that Crystal Palace made it to the top flight of English football for the first time. They were able to stay afloat for four years, but they never finished higher than 18th in the table. Since then, they have bounced between the first and second tiers of English football.
Crystal Palace has been promoted and relegated to the Premier League five times since the league’s inception 25 years ago. They don’t have the history of clubs that have only recently fallen on hard times, with just two FA Cup runners-up finishes and a Full Members Cup win to their name. Remaining in the Premier League gives the club hope of a slow turnaround though with the money and prestige the league brings.

Roy Hodgson took over the managerial duties for Crystal Palace after an awful first four games in which the club had failed to score. It wasn’t until the eighth game of the season that the club was able to both score and pick up a result, and they were the oddsmakers favorite to be relegated as a result. However, Hodgson was able to lead the club to results in eight straight matches from mid-November to late December, and they closed out the year on a 4-2-0 run.
Crystal Palace has plenty of firepower for being one of the smaller Premier League clubs. Luka Milivojevic led the team with 10 goals last season and Wilfried Zaha was able to find the back of the net nine times. The club also has notable names like Christian Benteke and Alexander Sorloth on the roster, and they could be one of the more fun teams to watch.
