Tottenham Hotspur F.C. English Premier League Odds
It feels like it’s only a matter of time before Tottenham break through. The North London club has now placed in the top five of the Premier League for eight of the last nine seasons, and they have finished in the top three in each of the last three seasons.
The Spurs are relative newcomers to the ranks of the elite in English football. Tottenham was a mid-table team until 15 years ago, and only recently have they started making it to the Champions League. They have only won two league championships in their 136-year history, but they have been far more successful in other competitions. Tottenham has won eight FA Cups, four League Cups, and seven Community Shields in domestic play. They have also claimed titles in European play, winning the precursor to the Champions League in 1963 and Europa League titles in 1972 and 1984.

Tottenham has had an abundance of success since homegrown Harry Kane came into his own. Kane has been the star of the team for the last four seasons, and he is unquestionably the best English player in the Premier League. He has yet to be named the Premier League Player of the Year, but he has been awfully close over the last few seasons. Kane was awarded the Golden Boot at the World Cup after scoring six goals in seven matches.
Speaking of the World Cup, the biggest sporting event in the world was a smashing success for Tottenham players. Kieran Trippier looked fantastic attacking along the edges of defenses, while Dele Alli and Eric Dier had their moments for the English national team too. Christian Eriksen was superb for Denmark, and Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld were solid at the back for Belgium. However, the player with the most rewarding experience was goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who led France to a World Cup title and won the Golden Glove in the process.
This offseason has been an extremely quiet one for Tottenham. The Spurs have a bevy of young talent, and they look content to continue to develop it. They have yet to make any major moves, coming or going, and they may just eschew the summer transfer window altogether.
