2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup Group B Betting
Costa Rica are the favorites to win Group B. They are the only country in the group that has gone to the World Cup multiple times, and the Ticos have something else working in their favor.
For the first time in Gold Cup history, some games in the competition will be held somewhere outside of North America. Costa Rica will host the first two games of the tournament in the capital of San Jose, and that will give them a big boost when they take on Central American rival Nicaragua.
Most experts will have Costa Rica winning the group comfortably and Bermuda finishing last in their World Cup debut, but the battle for second between Haiti and Nicaragua should be close. Those two foes meet on June 20 in Texas.

Group Teams Profiles
Costa Rica
FIFA Ranking: 38
Best Gold Cup Finish: Runner-Up (2002)
Costa Rica are the last CONCACAF team to make it to the World Cup Quarterfinals, and they are the favorites to win this group. However, this team is underdoing a lot of changes as their golden generation is on the wrong side of 30.
This could be the last time we see captain Bryan Ruiz in a major international competition for the Ticos. His 120 caps and 25 goals are the most of anyone on Costa Rica’s roster. Celso Borges will complement Ruiz in the midfield, while sensational goalkeeper Keylor Navas will be in net.
There are a lot of new faces on the team, and they will rely on one of their talented forwards entering his prime to net goals. Joel Campbell needs to shine if Costa Rica are going to upset Mexico or the US to win the Gold Cup.
Haiti
FIFA Ranking: 100
Best Gold Cup Finish: Quarterfinals (2002, 2009, 2015)
Les Grenadiers finished Nations League qualifying as the best team in the region. Haiti edged Canada by outscoring their opponents by a margin of 19 to 2, and they secured wins over Sint Maarten and Saint Lucia. More importantly, they beat fellow Group B participant Nicaragua in Managua, and Haiti beat Cuba too.
This team is led by Duckens Nazon. Nazon was one of the leading scorers during Nations League with six goals, and he has 16 goals in 26 appearances for Haiti. Derrick Etienne and Zachary Herivaux are two others to watch on this team.
Nicaragua
FIFA Ranking: 129
Best Gold Cup Finish: Group Stage (2009, 2017)
This is only Nicaragua’s third appearance in the Gold Cup in the last 50 years. Nicaragua failed to score in 2009 and lost all three of their matches. They lost all three of their matches again two years ago, but at least they notched their first goal with Carlos Chavarria netting against Panama.
The Blue and White are expected to earn their first Gold Cup result and first Gold Cup win this year. They will be hefty favorites against Bermuda, but Nicaragua knows that they must earn a result against Haiti to have a shot at advancing. Chavarria is the biggest scoring threat up top, while captain Juan Barrera is the heart and soul of the team.
Bermuda
FIFA Ranking: 175
Best Gold Cup Finish: Debut
Welcome to the Gold Cup, Bermuda! Bermuda made it to the Gold Cup for the first time in their history, overcoming an early loss to Aruba in Nations League Qualifying. They knocked off Sint Maarten, El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic to qualify, and any result would be huge for the tiny island.
Queens Park Rangers forward Nahki Wells led the team in qualifying, while Zeiko Lewis is another name familiar to American fans of the game from his time in the MLS. There are concerns in the back line though with a very young and inexperienced lineup where no player is older than 27.

The 2019 Gold Cup is currently set to be the biggest field ever. The field has increased rapidly as interest has picked up in the event over the years, and many Central American and Caribbean nations will send teams to the event. Bermuda and Guyana are making their first appearances in the competition, while Jamaica are out to win the Gold Cup after finishing runner-up in 2015 and 2017.
The Stars and Stripes and El Tri have combined to win the last nine Gold Cups with the United States winning five titles and Mexico winning four. Those two countries are again the favorites headed into this year’s event, and they are expected to meet at the final in Soldier Field.
This will mark the first time that Gold Cup matches are held outside the North American continent. Group stage matches in San Jose, Costa Rica and Kingston, Jamaica will be the first of their kind in Central America and the Caribbean. Those stadiums are expected to be packed for the competition.
