2019 International Champions Cup Betting
The seventh International Champions Cup will kick off in the middle of July. This competition gives fans around the world a chance to see the biggest clubs in the world in person, and matches will take place on three different continents. There will be 12 teams from six different countries taking part in this tournament, and each team will play three games to determine a winner.
Over its short history, the ICC has taken many forms. In 2013 and 2014, the competition took place in North America and Europe exclusively. In 2015, three separate competitions were held in North America/Europe, Australia, and China and three different champions were crowned. We saw champions crowned in North America/Europe and Australia in 2016, while in 2017 there were different versions of the competition in North America/Europe and Singapore.
It appears that the days of separate competitions are over though. The International Champions Cup moved to a worldwide format last season, with the winner being decided by who had the best record over the span of their three games with ties being decided by goal differential and goals scored. That’s the format that has been adopted this season, although the number of teams involved has shrunk from 18 to 12.

The International Champions Cup has been called a set of glorified friendlies, but we saw just how meaningful this competition could be last season. Lucas Moura made a name for himself and eventually earned a spot in Tottenham’s starting lineup after a strong International Champions Cup performance, and the seasoning Fernando Llorente received during this competition eventually paid huge dividend for Spurs too.
This year’s edition should have a considerable amount of star power. Although many players from the Americas won’t take part due to Gold Cup and Copa America commitments, most of the best players in Europe are likely to be involved.

Real Madrid have won the most International Champions Cups with three wins. The most storied club in the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup continues to fill its trophy case, and they will likely be the only team to win titles on multiple continents. Real Madrid won the inaugural competition over Chelsea in 2013, and they bested Roma and AC Milan for the Australia and China titles in 2015.
The only other club with multiple titles in this competition is Paris Saint-Germain. PSG won the 2015 and 2016 North America and Europe editions of this tournament, and they are the only back-to-back winner.
