Inter Milan UEFA Champions League Odds
Inter Milan are one of the traditional big three clubs in Italian soccer. They are tied with city rival AC Milan as the team with the second-most domestic trophies, having won 30 during their time in Italy’s Serie A. Inter Milan have been able to win 18 league championships, seven Italian Cups, and five Italian SuperCups, and they are looking to break the deadlock to move ahead of their rival this year.
It hasn’t just been domestic success for Inter Milan either. The club has won three Champions League and three Europa League titles, making them one of the most decorated clubs in Europe.
Inter Milan’s first title came upon their first foray into the Champions League back in 1963-64. The club was able to beat powers like Everton, Monaco, Partizan Belgrade, and Borussia Dortmund on their way to a title bout with Real Madrid. There, they were able to knock off the Spanish giants thanks to a brace from legendary star Alessandro Mazzola.
The club had a much tougher time the next season, but they managed to repeat as Champions League winners in 1964-65 by outlasting Rangers and Liverpool before a narrow victory over Benfica in the final. They continued to be a threat over the next two seasons, but Inter fell just short each time. That four-year run in the mid-1960s is still considered by many to be the golden age for the club.
Inter has had one other sustained period of success. In the 1990s, Inter Milan was able to win three Europa League titles and narrowly missed out on a fourth. In two of the three finals, they beat fellow Italian clubs (Lazio and Roma), and the final they lost was in penalties to FC Schalke 04.

Inter Milan was able to pick up another Champions League title in 2010. No one thought much of the club’s chances after failing to make it out of the first knockout round in each of the previous three years, but they were able to pull off one of the most unexpected memories in recent memory. Jose Mourinho designed effective strategies to mitigate the offensive advantages of Barcelona in the semifinals, and the club employed similar tactics in a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich in the final.
Since that last triumph, the club has not had much luck in European play. This will be their first Champions League appearance in seven years, and their three Europa League campaigns during that stretch weren’t very inspiring. The club was able to nab a spot after coming in fourth place in Serie A last season though.
The club looks keen to make their mark on the Champions League after nabbing midfielder Radja Nainggolan away from Serie A rival Roma. Nainggolan is in the latter stages of his career, but he is a strong two-way player who can deployed in a number of ways. He will give a boost to Inter’s chances of shocking the world once again.
