Juventus F.C. UEFA Champions League Odds
The club that has ruled Italian football more than any other has also proven their class in European competition too. Juventus are one of the few clubs in Europe to have won every major international tournament at least once, a feat that will not be matched any time soon in all likelihood.
Juventus won its first major European trophy back in 1977 when they defeated Athletic Bilbao for the Europa League title. In the 1980s, they were one of the first clubs to win different international competitions in successive years after they won the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1984 and their first Champions League title in 1985. The Turin-based club has also claimed an Intertoto Cup, two UEFA Super Cups, and two Intercontinental Cups as well.
However, for all the success, it feels like Juventus could have accomplished more. The club has been the Champions League’s biggest bridesmaid with seven runner-up finishes compared to just two victories during the competition’s history. Additionally, Juventus has yet to win a major European competition in the 21st Century, a note that has rankled their fans despite a bevy of domestic success.
Juventus are the most decorated club in Italy. They have won 34 league titles, finishing at the top of Serie A in each of the last seven seasons. Juventus have also won 13 Italian Cups and seven Italian Supercups.

The Champions League failures have really stung Juventus over the last decade. They have had little trouble maintaining their grip on domestic football, but like all major clubs, they see Champions League success as the ultimate victory.
Along those lines, Juventus have spent nearly $300 million on new players this season in order to grab that elusive third Champions league title. Of course, the biggest news was the acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo. The club spent close to half of that money on him alone, and they are paying him a fortune in salary too. Ronaldo won four Champions League titles in five years with Real Madrid, and Juventus is hoping he can bring that mentality to the club.
Juventus didn’t stop there though, bringing over right back Joao Cancelo, center back Leonard Bonucci, and winger Douglas Costa for princely fees too. Those acquisitions make them the overwhelming favorites to win their eighth straight Serie A title, but it will be all for not if they can’t win the Champions League.
Traditionally, Juventus have relied on their defense, but this year the club should have one of the most explosive offenses in Europe. In addition to Ronaldo, Juventus already had Mario Mandzukic, Juan Cuadrado, Paulo Dybala, Blaise Matuidi, and Douglas Costa on the roster. There is so much talent there, that moving a player like Gonzalo Higuain to a rival was met with a shrug by their fans.
