Real Madrid C.F. Spanish La Liga Odds
No club has had the sustained success that Real Madrid has had over such a long period of time. The Spanish giants are one of three clubs to have never been relegated from La Liga, and they have only finished outside of the top five once since 1977. Real Madrid are the most successful club in Spanish history with a trophy case packed to the brim.
This is a club that has done it all. Real Madrid are the most recognizable club in the world, and their success speaks for itself. They have won a record 33 La Liga titles and 19 Copa del Rey crowns, but where they have really made a name for themselves is in European play. Real Madrid has won a record 13 Champions League titles and they have nearly twice as many titles as the next-closest club. They have won four of the last five Champions League titles too.
Even FIFA has recognized Real Madrid’s greatness, calling the club the best of the 20th Century back in 2000. They are going to be one of the favorites in every competition they enter, and their Galacticos policy of bringing in stars from around the globe ensures they will have worldwide support.

Real Madrid struggled through the first half of the La Liga campaign last year, falling well behind eventual champions Barcelona. With domestic glory out of their grasp, they turned their full attention to winning their third straight Champions League crown and did so rather impressively. Real Madrid knocked out Paris Saint Germain, Juventus, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool on the way to the title. Cristiano Ronaldo was the competition’s leading goal scorer, and he was key in getting the club that title.
This has been an offseason of upheaval for Real Madrid. Ronaldo was sold to Juventus for a staggering amount after the World Cup, and manager Zinedine Zidane departed as well. Zidane’s departure was a shock after he became the only manager ever to lead a team to three straight Champions League wins, and team president Florentino Perez made the decision to replace him with Julen Lopetegui.
Lopetegui won’t have Ronaldo, but the cupboard is still stacked with talent. Real Madrid have talent at every position and continue to add depth with the signings of Vinicius Junior and Alvaro Odriozola. The club is in hot pursuit of Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard as well, and it seems likely that both will be in Real Madrid colors by the start of the campaign.
