2019 Women’s World Cup Group F Betting
The United States isn’t odds-on favorites to win their fourth Women’s World Cup, but they are likely to be the pick of most experts coming into the competition. No country has dominated women’s soccer like the US. The United States has made it to the World Cup semifinals in all seven iterations of the tournament, and they have finished no worse than third. Sweden is the United States’ main competition in Group F, while Chile and Thailand are seen to be competing for third place in the group.

Group Teams Profiles
United States
FIFA Ranking: 1
World Cup Appearances: 8
Best Finish: Champions in 1991, 1999, and 2015
The US has to be happy with this group. This is the second-weakest group in the competition, and the Swedes are the only team that can potentially challenge the USWNT as the top team.
This team has dominated the competition over the last year. The USWNT is 17-3-1 while mostly playing other World Cup participants, and the lone loss came against France in Le Havre. No team has many talents as the USWNT. Carli Lloyd and Alex Morgan are the stars up top and both players have more than 100 international goals. The midfield is a little inexperienced compared to teams in the past, but the backline is as strong as ever.
Sweden
FIFA Ranking: 9
World Cup Appearances: 8
Best Finish: Runner-Up in 2003
Like its Scandinavian rival, Sweden’s international performance has dipped in recent years. Sweden failed to win a match at the last World Cup after going 10-0 in qualifying with 32 goals scored and just one goal allowed, and they have not performed well in the run-up to this World Cup.
Sweden is 2-2-2 in six matches this year and their lone wins came against Switzerland and Austria. Neither team qualified for the World Cup. There are questions as to where goals will come from too. No one on the roster has more than 31 international goals, and No. 1 goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl is 36. This team might be ripe for an upset.
Thailand
FIFA Ranking: 29
World Cup Appearances: 2
Best Finish: Group Stage in 2015
The Chaba Kaew has long been overshadowed by bigger Asian countries, and they will be looking to make their mark at this World Cup. Thailand has not played well at all recently though, losing nine of its last ten matches in all competitions. They have lost seven of those games by multiple goals, and their inability to play with the top teams in each region will likely be seen once more.
Thailand did notch a win in its World Cup debut in 2015, beating Ivory Coast 3-2. However, they lost 4-0 to both Norway and Germany, and those losses could have been much worse. Wilaiporn Boothduang, Thanatta Chawong, Nisa Romyen, Anootsara Maijarern, and Naphat Seesraum are the players to watch for Thailand.
Chile
FIFA Ranking: 38
World Cup Appearances: 1
Best Finish: Debut in 2019
This is the first World Cup for the Ladies in Red. They qualified after finishing runner-up at the Copa America, and they hammered Argentina 4-0 at the competition.
Since qualifying for the World Cup, Chile is 3-4-7 in international play. The Ladies in Red have yet to win in 2019, and they lost two friendlies to Jamaica in short order and were hammered 7-0 by the Netherlands in early April.

The United States has been the juggernaut of women’s soccer since the first World Cup in 1991. The Stars and Stripes have won more World Cups than any other country, and they are the only team to have made it to the semifinals in all seven previous tournaments. Team USA is the only squad to have won a World Cup on their home turf, with Brandi Chastain firing home the winning penalty over China at the Rose Bowl in 1999.
Germany has had the second-most success at the Women’s World Cup. The German women are the only back-to-back winners in the history of the tournament, claiming the title in 2003 and 2007. They made it to the semifinals back in 2015 before losing to the US.
The French have yet to make it to a Women’s World Cup final. France is a recent power in the game, and their club teams are the best in the world. Olympique Lyon has won five of the last eight Champions Leagues, and they have made it to the finals in seven of the last nine years.
Unfortunately, the best player in the game today will not be taking part in the Women’s World Cup. Ada Hegerberg has decided that she will not play for Norway at the tournament, and she has not played for the national team in nearly two years.
