FIFA World Cup Betting: Group H is the only group that does not have an odds-on favorite according to the oddsmakers, but don’t tell that to Colombia. Colombia has the shortest odds of any team in this group and are looking to continue to build after their impressive performance in Brazil four years ago. Los Cafeteros nearly missed out on the World Cup this time around after blowing a lead at home against Paraguay in their penultimate qualifier. They needed to secure at least a draw on the road against Peru in their last match and were able to do that in order to finish fourth.
Once every four years, the world's most popular game has its biggest tournament. The World Cup is as big as it gets all over the world, especially for the 32 countries who have earned the right to partake in this tournament. We think of the World Cup as a four-week tournament in June and July every few years, but this is actually a tournament where every FIFA team in the world has a chance to make it to the big stage.
The 2018 World Cup in Russia will begin on Thursday, June 14 and run through the final on Sunday, July 15. All of the action can be seen on FOX, FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2.

History at the World Cup
You might think that Colombia has a rich history at the World Cup, but this will be just the sixth time the country has made it. Although they were considered one of the best teams in the world in the 1990s, they were never able to break through and missed three straight tournaments before qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
It was there that Colombia had its most success. Colombia was brilliant in the Group Stage, beating all three of its opponents convincingly in winning Group C. They easily handled Uruguay in the knockout rounds thanks to a brace from James Rodriguez, and then gave the hosts quite a scare in the Quarterfinals. Colombia ended up losing to Brazil 2-1, but they looked very much Brazil’s equal in a very physical game.
Player to Watch
Rodriguez had his coming out party at the last World Cup and looks to be in great form heading into this year’s edition. In Brazil, Rodriguez was the star of the tournament, winning the Golden Boot after scoring six goals in five matches. It was an incredible performance from the forward, and it earned Rodriguez attention from the biggest clubs in the world.
His performance at Real Madrid was checkered, but he has looked rejuvenated since joining Bayern Munich this year. It was Rodriguez that ensured Colombia’s spot in Russia with a huge goal in Lima in the last qualifier, and he tallied the lone goal in three 1-0 Colombia wins during qualifying. Rodriguez is at his best when playing for his country and should shine here.
