It’s down to the top 30 golfers in the FedExCup Playoff standings competing for the $15 million prize at the PGA Tour’s season-ending TOUR Championship at historic East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. The points slate is wiped clean for this event, however leader Justin Thomas is given a head start on the field. J.T. is 10-under with a 2-shot lead over No. 2 Patrick Cantlay even before reaching the first tee box on Thursday. The top golfers on Tour colliding also makes for intriguing matchups with odds on those available at top online sportsbooks. Fresh off the season’s final major, the PGA Tour heads to Memphis this week for the WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational. It’s rare to see a major and WGC tournament on back-to-back weeks, but the new schedule plays out that way. The St. Jude also gets a step up in status as the final WGC of the season. While the WGC will be played on a different course, TPC Southwind is no stranger to the Tour having hosted the St. Jude Classic from 1989 to last year, so there should be a comfort level for the stack... 

It’s another two tournament week on the PGA Tour with the Barracuda Championship in Reno, Nevada, serving as an alternate event to the WGC. That means a less than sparkling field, considering the event also comes a week after the final major of the season. A relatively small field of around 130 golfers will attempt to tame the Montreux Golf and Country Club in the Tour’s only event featuring the Modified Stableford scoring system, which credits points based on how players perform at each hole.
