Cardiff City enter this weekend with their backs firmly against the wall. The Bluebirds are in 18th place and finishing there would make them the final team relegated down to Championship. They are four points behind Brighton and Hove Albion, and they have to catch the Seagulls in their last two matches. Cardiff have a -36 goal differential so they need wins, so if they don’t defeat Crystal Palace at home on Saturday, they can kiss their remaining chances goodbye.... 

Two more games. Manchester City only have to win two more games in order to win their second straight Premier League title and top Liverpool in one of the best championship races in Premier League history. The Citizens are 30-2-4 and have been on a blistering pace over the last three months. This is their toughest remaining test, as Leicester City have looked good against Big Six teams and knocked off Manchester City on Boxing Day.... 

The last match between Big Six clubs will have huge consequences on the final table. Both Chelsea and Manchester United are gunning for a top four finish and a spot in next year’s Champions League. This is a must-win for Manchester United considering they are three points behind Chelsea and six points behind Tottenham Hotspur with three games to play, while Chelsea don’t have any breathing room either as they are up just one point on rivals Arsenal for fourth place.... 

There are just three more games separating Manchester City from repeating as Premier League champions. They are one point ahead of Liverpool in the standings, and as long as City win their last three matches, they will keep the league title at the Etihad. This week is probably their toughest remaining test as they travel to take on Burnley after facing rivals Manchester United on Wednesday. The Clarets have been playing good football and will be looking to stop City’s coronation.... 

Tottenham Hotspur have loved the sudden downturn of Big Six teams. Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United were all right behind Spurs in the standings, but those teams have a combined one point in their last two games. That has allowed Spurs to regain third place in the table, and they are very likely to finish in the top four. They are three points up with three matches to play, and a win over West Ham United this weekend would likely secure a spot.... 

It’s been a banner year for Liverpool. The Reds are back in the Champions League Semifinals for the second straight year, and if they can find a way to get past Barcelona, they are likely to be favored against either Tottenham Hotspur or Ajax in the final. Liverpool are in real contention to win a double with a Premier League title too, but they need to win out and hope that Manchester City drop points. There are just three matches left in Liverpool’s season, and they are massive favorites again... 

We’re in the final month of the Premier League campaign, and there will be a lot at stake in the Manchester Derby. Either Manchester City or Manchester United are going to have their hopes dashed at full time of Wednesday’s match. Manchester City need a win to stay ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League title race, and with the Reds having a very easy schedule the rest of the way, they can’t afford to drop points. The race for the last two Champions League spots is intense, and Chelsea will know what they must do to claim one of those two berths. Chelsea would be headed to the Europa League if they season were to end today. The Blues are sitting in fifth, and they are level on points with Arsenal and one point behind Tottenham. They are just two points ahead of Manchester United, but they have played one more match than those three teams, so they don’t have as much of an opportunity to get points in the f... 

Liverpool know they must win out and hold out hope that Manchester City stumbles in order to claim their first Premier League title. The Reds and Citizens have fought hard all year, and just one point separates the two teams when they are level on games. Liverpool have a much easier schedule the rest of the way, but they can’t lose points by overlooking a team like Cardiff City when they are so close to a league title.... 

Manchester United’s Champions League dreams have come to an end. They valiantly rallied against Paris Saint Germain to make the quarterfinals, but Barcelona were too much to overcome. Now, they face an uphill climb to make it back to the Champions League. The Red Devils have been on a torrid pace since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over as manager, but right now they are in sixth place and need to catch at least two teams to finish in the top four. That makes their match against Everton a must win.... 

Two bottom of the table teams will meet and look to guarantee their safety for next season when Newcastle United hosts Southampton FC. Newcastle are 15th in the table and seven points clear of the drop with 38 points, while Southampton are in 16th and two points behind the Magpies. The Saints have played one less game than the Magpies though, and a victory in St. James’ Park on Saturday would likely put them ahead for good.... 

This will be the third game in 12 days between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, and there are sure to be some fraught feelings. These teams will meet on Wednesday with a spot in the Champions League Semifinals on the line, and whichever team misses out on the next round of the Champions League will look to redouble their efforts to get a win on Saturday. Manchester City are favorites in both competitions, but beating a team like Spurs twice in four days is a tough proposition.... 

Arsenal fans are starting to catch Champions League fever. The Gunners are currently fifth in the table, but they have a game in hand on third place Chelsea and are one point behind fourth place Tottenham Hotspur. Perhaps more importantly, they have no matches remaining against Big Six opponents, so they will be favored in all six of their remaining league games as they look to return to the most prestigious competition in European football after a two-year absence. Liverpool know they need to keep winning if they are going to surpass Manchester City once more. Although the Reds are ahead in the table, they have played one less game than the Citizens, and they can’t drop points. This Sunday, Liverpool will face their last fellow Big Six team on their schedule when they take on Chelsea. The Blues have earned a result in both their previous matches with Liverpool this season, so Jurgen Klopp knows the task at hand.... 

After a disappointing loss to Tottenham in the first leg of their Champions League Quarterfinals tie, Manchester City’s hopes of a quadruple are in jeopardy. They already have one trophy and are favored to win both the FA Cup and the Premier League, but now they must avoid a letdown when they travel to face Crystal Palace this Sunday. City have had a few letdowns already this season, losing to Newcastle United, Leicester City, and this same Palace team, so Pep Guardiola will need to have his sid... 

Manchester United know that they are at least going to be playing in Europe next season. They just don’t know whether or not they will be playing in the Europa League or the Champions League. Right now, the Red Devils are last in the pack of four teams fighting for the two remaining Champions League spots. They are five points back of Chelsea, three back of Tottenham, and two back of Arsenal. That makes picking up three points in every match huge, and they need a win against a West Ham squad tha... 

Tottenham Hotspur were able to pick up a win over the Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League tie on Tuesday, but it may have cost Spurs tremendously in the long run. Harry Kane injured his ankle in the second half of the match, and it looks as if England’s skipper might be done for the remainder of the season. That would be an enormous loss as Spurs are right in the middle of an intense race to finish in the top four of the Premier League as well. Fortunately, they should be ... 

It’s make or break time for Chelsea. Maurizio Sarri knows that he is out as Chelsea’s manager if the Blues don’t finish in the top four. They were in good position for much of the year, but now they are trailing both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, and they are sitting in fifth. With just six league games left in the season (two of which are on the road against Liverpool and Manchester United), it’s time for Chelsea to make a move. Replacing a legend is never easy, but Unai Emery has done a great job so far. After a rocky start, he has steadied the ship at Arsenal and a win over Everton this Sunday will put the Gunners in third place in the table. At the beginning of the season, the mandate for Emery was to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League. He looks set to outpace expectations provided Arsenal don’t stumble down the stretch.... 

The FA Cup and European soccer have wreaked havoc with the Premier League schedule, so we have a rather light weekend of action this week. Only one Big Six club will be playing over the weekend (Arsenal), but there are a few interesting games between teams in the middle of the table. There are less than two months left in the Premier League campaign, and teams are looking to finish the season on a high note.... 

It continues to be a special season for Liverpool. The Reds pulled out another late win on Sunday to stay two points ahead of Manchester City in their bid to win the Premier League for the first time in their history. Liverpool fans must be thinking that this is a season of destiny at this point, as the game-winning goal turned out to be an own goal off of a bewildered Toby Alderweireld. Liverpool are hoping for a much cleaner result when they face Southampton this week.... 

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has finally been rewarded for turning around Manchester United’s fortunes. When the Norwegian was hired to replace Jose Mourinho back in December, he was given the title of interim manager. He kept that title for way too long as United turned around their season, but after the club made it to the Champions League Quarterfinals and once again challenged for a spot in the top four, the interim label was finally taken off. He led Manchester United to another win in his first ga... 

Liverpool continues to fight Manchester City tooth and nail for the top spot in the Premier League. This has been the most thrilling title race in quite some time, and the Reds have the advantage for now. They are up two points on City, but they also have one more game in the bank, so they need to get three points in each of their last seven matches. Fortunately for long-suffering Liverpool fans, they only have to play two more Big Six clubs, and they will face both of those teams at home. The f... 

It’s been a banner year for Arsenal. The Gunners are set to win the Premier League for the first time since their undefeated 2003-04 campaign, and they are 10 points clear of both Liverpool and Manchester City. April Fools! Arsenal are having a solid first season under Unai Emery, but the Gunners won’t sniff the Premier League title. They are looking likely to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in three seasons with a top four finish though. Arsenal need to keep winning though, ... 

Chelsea’s hopes of making it back to the Champions League after a one year absence are slipping through their fingers. The Blues are currently in sixth in the Premier League table, and they are running out of time to break into the top four. They blew a golden opportunity to draw closer against Everton two weeks ago, and they need as many points as they can get over the final eight games of the season. That makes Sunday’s road game against lowly Cardiff City a must-win for the Blues....
